Chapter 28

I woke up out my sleep because I couldn't sleep. I thought that once I was in my own bed I would be knocked out. But I couldn't help but think of how it would feel to have Jordan's arms around me holding me while our daughter slept next to us.

I got up and made my way to my kitchen. I needed some water. I felt like I was stressed out.

Oh your still here.? I asked startled because Kash was sitting on the couch on his phone and writing stuff down.

Yeah I was about to head out in a minute. Leave Nova here with you. I know you wanna spend alone time with your daughter. I was just tryna finish some shit up. Why you still up.?

I couldn't sleep.! And I already fed Novi so I'm just up.

Why not.? You okay.?

I don't know.....I feel sad and depressed.

Awwww come here dude.! He got up coming closer to me. I embraced him in a hug and he smelt so good. It felt amazing to have a man's arms around me. I felt safe and secure. "You okay mama.?!"

Yeah.....can I ask a favor.?

Anything.!

Can you lay with me until I fall asleep.?

Of course. I let go of him and led him to my bedroom. We got Into the bed and he cuddled up behind me holding me tight. I tried to close my eyes and forget about everything. I really just wanted to burst out in tears honestly.

MORNING P.O.V.

I woke up to soft little cries. I almost wanted to cry because they was so beautiful. I gently picked my daughter up from her sleeper and held her tight. She instantly new it was me. She stopped crying. I grabbed a diaper and wipes to change her while I turned the bottle warmer on. That probably was one of the best gifts ever that and the wipe warmer. I started to feed her and her cute little eyes was closing again. She was so perfect.

I looked around and Kash was gone. I must of fell fast asleep last night because I don't even remember falling asleep at all. He was so comforting and that's what I needed at this moment. He reminds me a lot of Jordan. I layed Novi back in her sleeper as she went back to sleep.

I got up to go shower and make my bed. I guess it was a good thing I was use to being up early now and making my bed you know prison Shit. I'd probably still be sleeping in if I didn't. I just wanted to make sure my days where productive so I could show that I am worthy of getting my daughter back.

Which reminds me I went over to my dresser where I put all of our important papers. I grabbed my ID and social security card ready. I definitely will need this for tomorrow when I go get rehired at Walmart.

I started making breakfast. I made something simple, some eggs and bacon. I wasn't really that hungry. All that jail food got my body messed up anyways. It was a hard knock on the door and I went to go answer it. To my surprise it was Kash.

Did my mom get here yet? He asked out of breath.

Umm no?! I didn't know she was coming.

Yeah her and an inspector for the house.....she thinks I was here with you and the baby.

Oh okay well let me make you a plate. I changed and fed Novi already. I said as I grabbed another plate and cup out the cabinet and he took a seat at the table. I gave him his plate of food and a cup of orange juice as The door was being knocked on.
I looked at him and he looked at me. For some reason I was extremely nervous.

Hi Mrs Wallace's! I smiled as I opened the door to her and another lady.

GoodMorning Promise! She smiled. "This is inspector Jones. She'll be assisting me this morning with a surprise inspection of the house. We have to make sure everything is safe and baby proof for NovaRain. This goes into your file to gain custody back of your child."

Okay, come in.! I said with a smile as I moved to the side. I was nervous as fuck. I shouldn't be because before we had NovaRain, Jordan baby proof the hell out this apartment and I mean everything down to having Styrofoam on the edges of the counters and zip ties for the cabinets, baby gates and all. He labeled her day covers and night covers and had a place for all her stuff animals to be when they wasn't in her crib and stuff at night or during the day when she was down for a nap.

Oh hi Kash! Mrs Wallace said to her son a little surprised he was here.

GoodMorning mom! He smiled giving her a side hug.

Began the inspection. This can take a few moments. We just ask that you two wait outside please. Inspector Jones said to us catching our attention. I nodded my head and we went into the hallway. The door closed after us and I felt my throat clogging up.

You okay? Kash asked licking his lips.

Yeah! I said biting my bottom lip crossing my arms.

You know you have nothing to be worried about P! You good, I know my mom seems like this hard ass lady and shit but she's really cake. She looks at Nova like she's her granddaughter! She's gonna do everything she can to make sure you and your baby end back up together!

Kash I'm just scared....I just want every thing to be perfect. My daughter is all I have and I missed so much already!

It's going to be fine baby girl trust me. He said as he pulled me into a hug. The door opened and Mrs Wallace and Inspector came out smiling and giggled while writing stuff down.

Soooo?! I questioned unsure.

Promise you passed don't worry! Just get me those stubs by the time we go to court and everything is looking good.

Oh my god thank you.!!!! I screamed in excitement making everybody giggle.

Y'all enjoy the rest of y'all day and Kash'On I'll see you at home soon.! Mrs Wallace said in a stern voice. He nodded his head and we went back into my apartment while they left. I was in such relief. I know I was getting my baby back soon. I just know I was!
