28th of May 2018

After I post the picture on Instagram I turn off my phone, not wanting all the notifications that are going to pop up. I pull my hand through my now beach blonde hair. "Influencer life hitting you hard, huh?" Lily says, her small baby girl on her hip. I lean over taking the small kid and boops its nose. "Ugh I would tell you about it but you wouldn't understand," I joke and she laughs at me. "You know Niall's in town?" she asks, and I frown. I hadn't seen Niall since I left for Manchester the morning after. He tried talking to me a couple of times, but I shut him out on purpose, wanting to be just me for a while, and after some time he stopped contacting me, giving me space. It didn't end badly, quite the opposite actually. "I still can't believe you guys really had break up sex and haven't talked since," Lily mumbles and I roll my eyes at her. "I don't want to talk about it, anyways, I need to head out. I have an interview down at Capital, you know, celebrity life and all that," I joke. She rolls her eyes at me, and takes the baby out of my arms.

"Ok Em, you've been through this before, on the other side of it but still. I'll just ask you some questions and you'll answer," Roman says as we're sitting in an interview room. The past year my fame has grown quite a lot, and I quit my original job as a radio host. I got the opportunity to start working with a model agency, something that I never really planned but I guess I've gotta go with the flow. Roman sits there asking questions, but all of a sudden we're interrupted when the door opens. "Finally, there you are," Roman says and I turn around, looking straight into a pair of ocean blue eyes. "Roman, hi," Niall says slowly, but still keeps his eyes on me. "Your bag is over there, thank you for picking it up now, I wouldn't have time to drop it off later on," Roman says, pointing over to the corner of the room. Niall nods, turning away before walking over, and I follow him with my eyes. "I'm sure Niall wouldn't mind you taking a picture, it would last longer," Roman jokes to me and I tear my gaze from Niall, looking over at him. "Whatever," I mumble, looking down at my hands. "Bye," I hear Niall say and before I can do anything the door shuts behind me. "Well that was awkward, what the fuck," Roman says and I groan. "I know, thank you for pointing it out," I say, squeezing my eyes shut. "Let's continue."

"You did amazing, you're a natural," Roman says when we're done, making me chuckle. "Whatever you say, Ro," I tell him and pat his back. "I'll see you later," I tell him, before heading out of the building. I check my phone and see that I have a text. I click it and when I see Niall Horan on the top I almost drop my phone.

Hey Emily. I know we haven't spoken in awhile, and I'm sorry. Are you by any chance going to be in the US in september? I know you work there sometimes. Niall

I raise an eyebrow at the text, not really knowing what he wanted with that info. Although I was going to the US next week, and staying there until the end of september. I shrug and put my phone back in my pocket, deciding that I can answer him later. When I get back to my flat I take a quick shower, before finding my phone again. I sit there for a good ten minutes, trying to figure out what I should send him.

Hey. Yeah I'm going to LA for a couple of weeks and then I'm heading off to West Palm Beach for a week or so. Emily

I press send, not really knowing what to do or how to feel. I throw my phone down on the couch and head over to the kitchen. I open the fridge, before closing it again, as I know I'm just bored and not hungry. That's a real struggle when you don't really have a real job. You never know what to do so you just sit around, and I can't even eat snacks because of my stupid diet plan. I figure I might as well do something useful so I pull on some work out clothes and head out so that I can take a run, cursing myself for not thinking about that before my shower.

I stop after half an hour, down by the park. It's quiet, the only persons I can spot are an elder couple down by the pond, feeding the ducks. I smile, before sitting down on a bench to catch my breath. I look around, catching a glimpse of brown hair, but it disappears just as quick as I saw it, probably my mind playing games with me. I pull my phone out, and see a new message from Niall. I'm about to open it when I feel the bench move a little and I look over at the other side, and I'm surprised when I see Niall. "You probably don't need to answer that one, since I'm here you know," Niall says and I smile a little. He's wearing workout clothes as well, so I suppose he's here for the same reason as me. "Yeah, probably," I mutter. I put my phone back in my pocket, before looking back at him. "So, what brings you here?" I ask him. He has been living in LA since he moved there, barely spending any time in London. "Nothing much, to be honest. Had some time off between my tour," he says and I nod, realizing I've completely forgotten about his tour. "How is that going?" I ask and he shrugs. "It's been fun. A lot different from the last time." I nod at his statement, knowing that he wanted to do this tour his own way. "That's good." We sit there in silence for a while before he smiles at me. "Did you get to read the message?" I shake my head and he nods a little. "I was wondering if you want to come to one of my shows. I have one in West Palm Beach 23rd of October," he says, his knee bouncing up and down like he's nervous. "I'll check my schedule, but I'm probably free," I tell him and his lips turn into a big smile. "Really?" I let out a small laugh and nod.

"So what happened with Chris?" Niall says after some time and I bite the inside of my cheek. "I reported it, but nothing happened. I didn't have evidence, so they couldn't make a case out of it. I haven't seen him since though, so it's ok," I tell him and he nods slowly. "That happens most of the time." He furrowed his eyebrows, and it looks like he's in deep thoughts. "I like that we were going to be friends, and then we haven't spoken in a year," he tells me sarcastically, and I nod. "Yeah. Guess it was a break up after all," I mutter, not wanting to talk about it. "Yeah." I look over at him, before looking down on my hands. "You look great by the way, different but great," he says and I look back up at him. "I am pretty different," I say, not really knowing how to react. "I can tell. I hope you've found a happy place, Em." He gets up from the bench and dusts off his bum, before stretching his arms above his head. "Let me know if you can come then, 23rd of September, I would love to have you there," he says and I smile. "I will, I'll see you later, Niall," I say getting up from the bench, and then we walk off in different directions.
