"Is there anything you regret about our relationship?" I ask Niall while we're eating. We ended up going to a sushi restaurant, and right now we're eating. He thinks about it before he nods slowly. "What?" He smiles a little before putting his chopsticks down. "I regret sleeping with you the day I asked you to be my girlfriend," he says, and I nod. "Yeah, I get that. Could have waited until we weren't in my childhood room," I say, agreeing with him. "What about you?" he asks, putting a piece of salmon in his mouth. "No, not really, not yet." He smiles. "So you're gonna regret something at some point?" I purse my lips and think about it. "Yeah. I think you can never have a relationship without regrets. There will always be something, small or big," I tell him. I take my beer and take a sip of it. "Well, let's hope it's small. What do you regret about your last relationship?" He's putting his hand up on the table, letting me grab it. "Starting to date him in the first place. Everything about the relationship," I say, not even paying it a second though. I look at him as if to ask him back. "Letting her use me I guess," he says, looking down on his food. It dawns on me that we have never talked about his last relationship. "You've never told me anything about it," I state and he looks back up. "What do you want to know?" I shrug a little. "Whatever you want to tell." All I know about her is that she was british, and that they were dating a year ago. "I met her while I was on tour in Britain. She was super sweet, it seemed like it at least. She had a friend that knew one of the lads, so she was backstage. One look at her and I was a goner, I really thought she was the one. We went on our first date the same night, kept hanging out until we became a couple. I thought she really liked my friends, always asking when we were going to hang out with the lads. Turned out she wasn't really into me, but wanted to get to know one of my friends. Wasted about half a year on her," he says. De didn't seem mad, or sad. He seemed ok with it, which was almost worse. "Has it happened more than once?" I ask him quietly. He nodded slowly, and I squeezed his hand. "She sucked. I wouldn't trade you for anyone," I say, and he smiles. "Good to know. I would probably trade you with Jennifer Aniston, but I'll give you a warning first," he jokes, and I roll my eyes playfully at him. "On a serious note though, I love you more than anyone, and I hope you know that," he continues. "I love you too, so much," I say and we go back to eating.
"Hurry up," Niall pushes when I'm trying to get done with my food. "Sod off, Nigel," I say, putting the last piece of sushi in my mouth. "Please don't Nigel me," he groaned, before our waiter came over and handed us our check. I got my wallet out and paid. After that Iæ pulled on my jacket, before getting up from my chair. I took Niall's hand and he practically dragged me out of the restaurant, and we walked until we got to a pair of steps leading down to the beach. "I didn't want you to miss the sunset. You told me you wanted to watch it," he tells me, pulling me with him until we were closer to the ocean. I can't help but smile, before he pulls me down so we're sitting in the sand. He moves so that I sit in between his legs and we sit in silence for a while. Soon after the sun is starting to move towards the horizon. I look up at Niall, who's staring out at the view. "Em, you need to look or else you're going to miss it," he tells me, not moving his eyes over at me. I blush a little before turning my head back, looking at the sky. A pink color starts forming in the sky, quickly followed by a purple one. I look back up at Niall and this time he's looking back at me. "Ni, you need to look or else you're going to miss it," I joke, and a soft chuckle escaped his lips. "I don't need a pretty sky to watch when I can watch you," he tells me and I roll my eyes playfully at him. "You're so cheesy, you know that right?" I say, turning away from him and leaning back on his chest. "You love it, don't even try to deny it." I smile and bite my lip, knowing he's right. We sit in silence the rest of the time, before he suddenly gets up, making me fall back on the sand. "What was that?" I ask when I get up, brushing sand off my back. "Would you mind it if we go back? I just had a song idea," he says, starting to walk away. I follow him. When I catch up with him he puts his arm around me, pulling me into his side as we walk.
"You're a good inspiration for my songs, sweets. I could probably drop an amazing album if we ever break up," he jokes, making me laugh. "A whole album about me? I think no, if I'm being honest," I say, and he looks down, meeting my eyes. "I haven't really asked you if it's ok that I write about you. Is it?" he asks, and I smirk. "Of course." This makes him smile. We arrive at the hotel and get up to our room. "I'm going to get ready for bed," I announce when we get inside, and he nods, walking over to the desk we have here pulling out a notebook. When I get back out from the bathroom he's tapping his pen against his lips. I walk over to him, looking down at the paper. There's random words scribbled around on the sheet, and I don't understand. I wrap my arms around him from behind before I kiss his cheek. "What do you think?" he asks, nodding toward the paper, completely serious. "Uhm, it seems nice?" I try, and he nods. He writes a couple of more words, not really adding up for me. "I think this song will be great," he mumbles and I smile. I press a kiss on his temple before moving to bed, laying down.
"Morning," Niall mumbles the next day, when I wake up. His arm is draped over my waist, and he's cuddling into my neck. I turn around so I can face him, and meet his blue eyes staring right back at me. "Good morning. Have you been awake for long?" I ask him, placing my head so that I can look into his eyes. "No, ten minutes maybe. Didn't want to wake you," he says, sliding his arm that isn't on my waist under my neck before pulling me closer to him. He starts placing small kisses all around my face, making me giggle. "Love you, love you, love you," he says, continuing with the small kisses before sofly planting one on my lips. "Love you too." He smiles and brushes his nose against mine. "What do you want to do today?" Niall asks, making me think. "It would be amazing to stay in today, just chilling out but I feel like we should do something. I've never been in Barcelona, I want to explore as well," I tell him. He leans back on the bed, pulling me with him so that I have my head resting on his chest. "We can stay in. I brought you here so that we could relax. We can come back another time and explore," he says, tracing my shoulder. "Ok, let's just stay here today then," I say, closing my eyes. "Well, we have to head out tonight. I got us tickets to the match," he tells me and I shoot up from my position. "No way? Don't kid about that, Niall," I tell him, searching for a sign of this being a joke on his face. "I'm not, I fixed us some tickets. Think they're pretty good as well," he says stretching his arms a little. "How? When?" I ask him, still not believing him. "I called up my manager, asked if she could set something up. It isn't such a big deal, I knew you wanted to watch and I thought why not use this fame thing for something good for once." He motions for me to get back down, but I don't. "You're so fucking amazing, Niall, you have no idea. I could literally kiss you right now," I say, making him raise his eyebrows at me. He grabs my arms right over my elbows and brings me down, so that I'm inches away from him. I lean in closing the gap between us. "Thank you, Niall," I say when I pull away and rest my head back on his chest, listening to his steady heartbeat.
