I entered the great hall with harry, ron and hermione the next morning. And the first thing we saw was draco entertaining a large group of slytherins by pretending to faint. He caught my eye, and winked. I scowled, and resisted the urge to throw a book at him.

"Ignore him, harry." I said.

"Hey, potter!" Pansy shrieked. "Potter! The dementors are coming, potter! Woooo!"

I rolled my eyes. "You know, pansy, I was going to give you a nasty look, but I see you already have one."

The boys around her laughed, while she scowled.

I sat at the table next to fred weasley. I love the weasley twins. They make everything much more fun. I actually had detention with them, and I wouldn't mind doing it again.

"New third-year timetables." George said, passing them out. "What's up with you, harry?"

"Malfoy." Ron answered, glaring at the slytherin table.

I looked over my shoulder and saw draco pretending to faint again.

"That little git." George said.

"HA! He wasn't acting like that last night."

"What do you mean?" Fred asked, probably thinking something dirty.

"It's not whatever you're thinking, weasley." I laughed, loading my plate up with food. "When I went to get in my robes, I waited for one of the closest changing rooms to open. That's when the dementors came. He pulled me inside, and I swear, if his arms were wrapped around me any tighter, I think I would have been cut in half."

"Mmm-hmm. Sure, y/n."

"I wasn't too happy myself." George said. "They're horrible things, those dementors."

"Sort of freeze your insides, don't they?"

"You didn't pass out, though, did you?" Harry said in a low voice.

"Forget it, harry." George said, bracingly. "Dad had to go to azkaban one time, remember, fred? And he said it was the worst place he'd ever been. He came back all weak and shaking. They suck the happiness out of a place, dementors. Most of the prisoners go mad in there."

"Anyway, we'll see how happy malfoy looks after our first quidditch match. Gryffindor versus slytherin, first game of the season, remember?"

Normally I would be exited to hear that. But all it did was make me upset.

Fred poked me with his index finger. "What's the matter, y/n? Yore still going to be on the team."

"It's not that, fred. My mother and father are wanting to come and watch the first game."

"So?"

"They want to find any reason to criticize me at home. I'm not looking forward to it."

"Ooh, good, we're starting some new subjects today." Hermione said, happily.

"Hermione," ron frowned, looking at her timetable from over her shoulder. "they've messed up your timetable. Look, they've got you down for about ten subjects a day. There isn't enough time."

"I'll manage. I've fixed it all with professor mcgonagall."

"But look, see this morning? Nine o'clock, divination. And underneath, nine o'clock, muggle studies. And - look - underneath that, arithmance, nine o'clock." He's right. That is a little much. "I mean, I know you're good, hermione, but no one's that good. How're you supposed to be in three classes at once?"
