I never realize how annoying it can be seeing someone cry every time they see you. Every time I went to my care of magical creatures lessons, or passed hagrid in the corridors, or waved at him during meal times, giant tears would fall from his eyes. I know he feels awful, I really do, but I want him to stop being sad for me. Geez. I sound like my parents, kinda.
I laid down on a bench, my head in george's lap while his fingers ran through my hair. Oliver had called a quidditch meeting on thursday afternoon in october, to discuss tactics for the new season. I was one of the chasers, along with angelina johnson and katie bell. Being in quidditch is one of my favorite things to do. Father almost didn't buy me a broomstick, but xavier convinced him. Nimbus 2001. The exact same as draco malfoy's.
"This is our last chance - my last chance to win the quidditch cup." Oliver started pacing pack and forth. "I'll be leaving at the end of this year. I'll never get another shot at it. Gryffindor haven't won for seven years now. Okay, so we've had the worst luck in the world - injuries - then the tournament getting called off last year."
I couldn't help but laugh at the memories of everything that happened last year. George looked down at me, and gave me a weird look.
"But we also know we've got the best-ruddy-team-in-the-school. We've got three superb chasers." I sat up, and grinned at the captain. "We've got two unbeatable beaters."
"Stop it, oliver, you're embarrassing us." Fred and george chorused, pretending to blush.
"And we've got a seeker who has never failed to win us a match!" He glared at harry with furious pride. "And me."
I rolled my eyes. "We think you're very good, too, oliver."
"Cracking keeper." Fred added.
"The point is," oliver continued. "the quidditch cup should have had our name on it these last two years. Ever since harry joined the team, I've thought the thing was in the bag. But we haven't got it, and this year's the last chance we'll get to finally see our name on that thing..."
"Oliver, this year's our year." Fred said.
"We'll do it, oliver." Angelina added.
"Definitely." Harry said.

One evening, I returned to the gryffindor common room with harry and the twins. The whole room was buzzing excitedly.
"What's happened?" I asked hermione and ron.
"First hogsmeade weekend." Ron answered. "End of october. Halloween."
"Excellent." Fred said behind me. "I need to visit zonko's, I'm nearly out of stink pellets."
I laid down on the floor in front of the fireplace, closing my eyes.
"Harry, I'm sure you'll be able to go next time." I heard hermione say. "They're bound to catch black soon, he's been sighted once already."
"Black's not fool enough to try something I hogsmeade." Ron said. "Ask mcgonagall if you can go this time, harry, the next one might not be for ages-"
"Ron." I mumbled, eyes still closed. "Harry's supposed to stay in school-"
"He can't be the only third year left behind, y/n. Ask mcgonagall, go on, harry-"
"Yeah, I think I will."
Ron groaned in disgust. "Does he have to eat in front of us?"
