I'm going to skip the part where harry finds out that sirius is his godfather.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Harry's screaming voice echoed through my head.
"It wasn't my place to tell!" I replied.
"No you could have told me about black being my godfather, but instead, you chose to keep it to yourself! I had to find out through the teachers talking to fudge at the three broomsticks!"
"Harry, I'm sorry!"
"Y/n," Hermione put her hand on my shoulder at that time. "I think it's best to leave him alone for a while. He just learned something big today, and he has yet to process it."
"Y/n?"
I snapped out of my thoughts, and looked around the table. I was home for the holidays, and narcissa and draco are over for lunch.
I turned my attention to mother. "I'm sorry, mother. What?"
"I asked if there was something on your mind."
I straightened up in my seat. "Yes, sorry."
"Do you mind sharing what it is?"
"Uh-"
"Don't stutter, y/n. Speak properly."
Draco looked between my mother and i, his eyes held confusion. Narcissa looked like she was biting her tongue. Xavier was looking down at his plate uncomfortably. Ever since the game against hufflepuff, he's been kinder to me. I don't mind it.
I cleared my throat. "No. It's unimportant."
"Good. Now, answer narcissa's question, dear."
I looked to the kinder woman. "What was your question again?"
"How are you doing in school?"
"It's good. I've been getting top marks, as always." I added the last part especially for my mother.
"That's good. And I heard that you pulled draco out of the way of the hippogriff, but you got the worst."
"I did. While buckbeak, the hippogriff, got draco's arm, he got my face." I wanted to say more, but I just know it would be useless. No one would care what I had to say.
Narcissa smiled. "I'm just glad that the two of you are okay."
My eyes flickered over to draco, who was staring at me. "Excuse me, please."
I left the table, and started to walk the corridors of the castle. The guilty feeling of not telling harry kept flooding my body, no matter how hard I pushed it away. I found myself in the ballroom after a few minutes. I eyes the piano, thinking to myself. Would anyone hear me?
My boots echoed around the room as I walked forward. My fingers played a few notes as I went. I smiled at the beautiful sound, and sat on the bench. My fingers danced across the keys perfectly, and I was slowly getting lost in the music. If there was one thing that could get me away from here, it's music. As the music grew more powerful, the more I got a feeling someone was watching me. I looked over towards the opposite side of the ballroom, not stopping my music. I jumped, slamming my hands on the keys when I saw draco standing there.
He laughed. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."
I took deep breaths to try and calm my racing heart. "What are you doing here?"
"I volunteered to come and make sure you were okay." His shoe heels clicked against the ground as he made his way towards me. "Then I got lost walking in the corridors. But when you started playing, I followed the sound. I didn't know you played."
"Yeah, well there's a lot you don't know about me, malfoy."
He faked a gasp. "I thought we were on first name basis now, y/n."
"Actually, you never said it was okay if I called you draco or not."
He moved to sit beside me on the bench. "I didn't know I had to give you permission. But if it makes you feel better, you can call me draco."
His lips slowly turned into a smile, and it was so contagious, it made me smile back at him. Why? I can't stand him, yet I feel like I would like to get to know him.
"Do you play?"
He nodded his head. "I play a little."
"Wanna play together?"
"You first."
I suddenly got nervous. "Okay. Um, just follow my lead, and jump in whenever, okay?"
I played a few notes, deciding it was best to go slow as I waited for him to join. When I looked up at him, he was still looking at me. I arched an eyebrow, and he quickly switched, watching my hands instead. I bit my lip as I watched his eyebrows scrunch together in concentration. Now, you may think I'm crazy, but I never realized how handsome he was when he wasn't rude to everyone. Maybe this arranged marriage will work, as long as we get to know each other first.
"It sounds so sad." He chuckled.
"I'm going slow for you." I shook my head, laughing. "Are you going to play or not."
"All right, all right."
He placed his hands on the keys properly, and repeated what i played, only on the higher keys.
"Good."
He cracked his knuckles. "Okay, I can't listen to this anymore. Let's have some fun."
His fingers played a more upbeat melody.
"Fine, draco. You wanna be that way?"
I joined in, having fun with it. When it came to the end, my fingers danced up the keys, and he placed his hand on mine, intertwining out fingers together. My heart skipped a beat, and I looked up at him.
"I thought you only know how to play a little bit?"
"I do." He brought my hand up, and kissed my knuckles. "That's all I know."
"Okay, you two." Xavier walked in. "Time to break it up. Malfoy, your mother said it's time to go. Y/n, we're going out."
"I guess I'll see you later, y/n." Draco kissed the back of my hand again, and left.
My eyes met xavier's.
"How sweet."
"Oh, shut up, xavier."
