I'm pretty sure the celebration for gryffindor winning the quidditch cup lasted for about a week. But then the time came for the exams. I had spent every waking moment with my head in a book. There have been multiple occasions where I have stayed up until three in the morning to study, only to wake back up at six. I was absolutely exhausted. But I'm not as bad as hermione. The boys and I were scared to even talk to her, worried she would blow up on us.
On thursday morning, I was walking back up to the school with harry, ron and hermione. We had just finished our DADA exams, whatcha included an obstacle course, where we had to wade across a deep paddling pool containing a grindylow, cross a series of potholes full of red caps, squish our way across a patch of marsh, ignoring the misleading directions from a hinkypunk, then climb into an old trunk and battle with a new boggart, which turned into my father, but I made him dress in one of mother's finest dresses.
Ron was still laughing at hermione's boggart, which was mcgonagall telling her she failed everything, when i elbowed him in the side, making him shut up. My eyes had caught sight of cornelius fudge up ahead. I forgot today was the execution date.
"Hello there, harry, miss diore!" Fudge greeted when he noticed us. "Just had an exam, I expect? Nearly finished?"
I smiled and nodded my head.
"Yes." Harry said.
"Lovely day." Fudge cast an eye over the lake. "Pity... pity..." He sighed deeply, and looked at us. "I'm here on an unpleasant mission. The committee for the disposal of dangerous creatures require a witness to the execution of a mad hippogriff. As I needed to visit hogwarts to check on the black situation, I was asked to step in. I told you, y/n. I told you at christmas that you would have justice."
I gave him a tight lipped smile. "You did, sir." I could feel my friends staring at me in disbelief, but I ignored them.
"Does that mean the appeal's already happened?" Ron asked, stepping forward.
"No, no, it's scheduled for this afternoon."
"Then you might not have to witness an execution at all! The hippogriff might get off!"
Two wizards showed up at that time. One was macnair, he's always been invited to both our parties, and the malfoy's parties. The other was an older wizard from the committee.
"Dear, dear," The old wizard said. "I'm getting too old for this... two o'clock, isn't it, fudge?"
I noticed macnair fingering an ax on his hip. Ron opened his mouth to say something, but I pulled him away before he could.
"Macnair." I greeted as we walked by.
"Miss diore." He nodded his head and smiled at me.
I dragged ron into the entrance hall beside me.
"Why'd you stop me?" He shook free of my hold. "Did you see them? They've even got the ax ready! This isn't justice! But maybe you'd like that, huh? Justice for y/n!"
"Oh, shut up, ron. Your dad works for the ministry. You can't go saying things like that to his boss!" I said. "Look, I don't want justice for myself, okay? I want justice for buckbeak! But as long as hagrid keeps his head this time, and argues his case properly, they can't possibly execute buckbeak... okay?"
I really wish they believe me. I don't believe myself, because I knew what the outcome is going to be no matter what happens today.

I stepped out of my dorm, just got done changing. I finally finished all of my exams, and now I'm ready to relax.
"Y/n..."
