"We're all probably going to die."

"No we're not," I said glaring at Jack. He scoffed before shifting his gaze from me back to the holographic map of Alon.

"Tell me we're looking at the same thing," he said and I lifted my gaze to the map. Hundreds of blinking red dots were spread across it. "You think six teenagers can take on an army of demons?"

"Six teenagers and an immortal demigod," Malek corrected.

Paige furrowed her eyebrows before she said, "Demigod?"

Malek didn't address her question, instead he rose to his feet, coming to stand next to Scarlet. He waved his hand over the map and six green dots appeared on the west side of the map. "You're not going up against anyone. This is a rescue mission," he said.

"Damien is being held in Western Alon, at the ruins of the old temple. We'll split up into two teams." Three of the green dots disappeared from where they had appeared, just outside the woods that surrounded the old temple and they reappeared near the front entrance. "The first team will create a distraction while the second team sneaks into the temple." He waved his hand and the map zoomed onto the temple. "Damien is being held in this room," he pointed to a room on the second floor.

"And what will you be doing?" Paige asked.

"I'll be keeping my brother busy," Malek answered. He then went into detail about the plan, and how to navigate through the old Alonian temple.

"We can't teleport too close to the temple to prevent detection. Marcus, you're with Adrian and Kane, you'll come up close to the edge of the city, and advance into the woods, there's a side entrance that leads up to the second floor. Not a lot of people know about it so it shouldn't be guarded," he said as he pointed out the entrance of the map.

"Jack, Abigail and Paige you'll advance from the south, from the old village at the outskirts of the temple. You'll enter the temple from the servant's entrance at the eastern side after my signal and make your way to the courtyard. Once you've created enough noise get out of there." Abby nodded and Jack looked apprehensively at the map, biting down on his bottom lip.

"Demons should immediately flock towards the courtyard, giving Marcus' team enough time to get up to the second floor and get to Damien. We'll meet up in the woods when the mission is done."

When he was done Adrian turned to Scarlet and asked, "What about the underworld?" She shifted her gaze to him. "You're initiating the plan tonight, you march for the underworld tonight, shouldn't we be there? Don't you need as many witches as you can get?"

"This plan is more important," Scarlet answered and Jack scoffed.

"Important," he repeated. "You're treating us like kids," he said.

"This isn't what this is," she said and he frowned.

"Then what is it?" He asked. "Because from where I'm standing it looks like you're sending all the kids on a crackpot mission to keep them away from the battle. Does a rescue mission even need this many people?"

"Jack," I said in a reprimanding tone. "Scarlet is right, this plan is important. If we succeed there won't be any need for battle. With Damien's help we can put back up the barrier around the underworld and prevent Ashon and Geun from going through the portal."

...................

We spent another hour going over the final details of the plan before Scarlet dismissed us. She said we had an hour to get ready and everyone filed out of the room. Adrian and I walked back to the rooms in silence.
