Chapter 26: A Trip To Mount Kumotori

A few hours have passed and everyone was getting nervous, that is, except Katsumi. It's a bit unrealistic for a person to not feel such, it's as if she's a cyborg. But that's not the case, Katsumi, is actually feeling happy, yes like... Really happy. She knows she hasn't seen her brother nor the other participant's current situation yet nor have seen what their status is now whether they are dead or alive, she was still happy. After thinking about it, she realized that even if they found nothing and their investigation was nothing, or even found them alive and well, the story will always end with the same ending, just in different sides. You find nothing of the participants' current state nor found them, you go back to your usual everyday life but in despair, you find them you get to go back to your usual everyday life with them and with hope.

She realized that for a long time now, ever since she started planning this investigation, which is the reason why she didn't have that much of a reaction during the investigation. But this time it was different, when she used to think that it was still the same, she started to feel like the way she thought of it at first was wrong. Her mind kept telling her that if she can't feel anything on both sides then she shouldn't have started the investigation nor meet up with V3's survivors in the first place. So she started to find the reason why she even did in the first place, to find her brother again right? But that wasn't the case, to put an end to all the killing games? That could be it, to help the participants so that they can finally return to their families who were losing hope because she knows not all of them can feel the same way she's feeling? Yes, that's why.

She also thought about Kyoshi for a while, she still needs to save him, boy could be receiving any threats by now. Luckily she only had a few works and to get herself ready for the trip in Mt. Kumotori, which is now. Having a change of clothes (Which she always have clothes in her office as an extra) she walked through the hallways with a different aura surrounding her, a determined, happy aura. Her coworkers noticed this a greeted her in a series of 'good lucks' and 'be carefuls' while some prayed that their boss would be safe along with the youngsters. On her way to where Mizuno and the others were waiting, she ran into Miko who was holding Mikio in his hands and both of them told her 'good luck' which made Katsumi smile. She has already accepted her emotions for a long time, she just never showed it, it was only a matter of time when she started getting comfortable in showing it.

After going down to a few floors, she finally arrived to where the four was waiting. "Hey, Katsumi is here," Maki spoke up making the three look to the direction where the assassin was looking. The four of them scanned her from head to toes "I see, so you decided to change huh?" Mizuno said pointing at her "Well, what can I say? I was wearing doll shoes,  and a v neck with long sleeves, I'll look like some angry woman who just rushed out of her house," Katsumi joked making the others chuckle. "Nyeh, what are we waiting for? Let's go," Himiko spoke up and started to jog to the elevator as the four followed her. Getting in the elevator, Katsumi braced herself from the elevator's sudden force that had spread throughout her body in whenever it moves. It's a good thing that the elevator isn't glass, otherwise she'll collapse to the floor, well... Maybe not but a glass elevator hits different though.

"Hey Katsumi," Shuichi called "Hmm?" Katsumi responded making Shuichi glup down his nervousness. "Uhhmm, can I ask you something? If we find the others in the facility, and we only have your car uhhh- how do we drive them back to their houses?" Shuichi asked earning a chuckle from Mizuno. "Silly detective, that's easy!" Mizuno spoke up and glanced at Katsumi who nodded in return. The elevator's doors opened and the five of them went out, greeted by the other workers again, they thanked them and went out of the building. "We actually have contacted some people hehe," Katsumi said and just in time, a black van arrived. Both the windows of the passenger's and the driver's seat open as the passenger and the drivers head peeked out of the window.
