No one's POV

After Tsumugi changed her clothes, she joined the others and stood next to Maki which created an awkward tension between them. Silence came upon the two while they watched the others prepare some stuff until Maki decided to speak up. "Alright, now that you're and I know we aren't in good terms, but can I ask you a question?" Maki glared at her but it wasn't the 'You wanna die?' glare it was just a   'I need to know something' glare. "Ask away," Tsumugi looked at her waiting for the assassin to speak up again. "Why exactly did your father lock you up? You know, in there?" Maki asked bobbing her head to the directon of the door that leads to the cosplayer's cell "Well, I'm not sure but if I can recall, it was like a reserve spot, we both know my father is planning to create another killing game which involves me... Again, he didn't want me to leave or go against it so he locked me up... Thinking I was gonna run away... Forever," Tsumugi exclaimed sighing in pain and sadness.

"I see, but-" Maki cut herself off gaining Tsumugi's attention "What?" Tsumugi looked at her wanting to hear a complete question or sentence of what she just said. Maki looked at her and back to watching the others prepare something "You and Rantaro were both in V2 right? And somehow, the two of you survived that killing game then at V3 he died by your hands, so, how did you felt about that?" Maki asked her in a dull tone.

It was true that she still doubted Tsumugi even if she knows that she went through a lot and was forced to do her duties but it still hurt after what she did. "At first, I was certain that I could win but something in me said that I couldn't make it, then I started loosing every bit of my happiness and myself in every trial, every case, even though I was the one creating each event of what would happen, I couldn't keep myself from crying, asking myself why I even agreed to become a part of this again," Tsumugi stated and hung her head low in shame and guilt.

"I toyed with four people as if they were dolls," Tsumugi said and held up four of her fingers then back down "I killed Rantaro, wasting all his hopes of  surviving, all the blame got to Kaede as she died thinking it was her fault, manipulated Kaito's way of thinking using the flashback light of the memories I only made, and wrote every moment of Kokichi's actions as I decided to cut my strings connecting to his as he let out his last truth to Kaito, and Kaito died probably hearing his first and last truth from Kokichi whispering in his mind,"  Tsumugi added and looked at her hands. "Kokichi was the one who was badly affected though, I was like a kid who played with their dolls and throwing them away if they get sick of them, I threw Kokichi away because I was waiting for him to die, I blamed him for everything and he accepted all of it, and the fact that he was one of my closest friends back when we were kids is-" Tsumugi said and clenching her trembling hands with sorrow as she tried her best to hold her tears.

Just by hearing those words, Maki suddenly remembered the dream she had that day, when she thought she never wanted anything more than to save a bloody and bruised Kokichi tied up in strings from the girl standing next to her right now, and how she realized that Kokichi dragged Kaito into the side of death just so she won't get executed and Kaito knew. "But now, his family is here helping me, helping you three, and I can't even get a tint of hatred from them towards me," Tsumugi looked at Tatiana, Kyoshi, Mizuno, and Katsumi. "They're here, you three are here, and we're about to see if the others are still alive or not, by facing my father," Tsumugi sighed and placed a hand on her arm.

"I'm sorry," she spoke up again finally gaining Shuichi, Maki, and Himiko's attention "I know sorry isn't going to fix this but, it's the only thing to lift the weight off my shoulders, even if you won't accept it," Tsumugi had a sad smile in her face and looked at them. "Finally, I've been wanting to hear that for a long time," Shuichi smiled and chuckled "Nyeh, same here, we all got badly affected by the killing game so don't worry about it," Himiko smiled and went to Katsumi "I'm pretty hard to convince, but at least," Maki looked at her and smiled slightly making Tsumugi's eyes sparkle as she smiled back at them "Thank you guys," she said and wiped the tears that were about to fall from her eyes.
