one hot night, jordan was woken out of bed from the rumblings of thunder.

there was this feeling in the house, one of darkness and sorrow.

it hasn't felt like that since her older brother was killed.

"dad?" jordan called out and heard a yell from the library, her sacred place.

she quickly ran, sweat beading on her forehead.

it was dark and she was stumbling, sweat either getting in her eyes or tears prickling, but somehow she managed to get to the door.

"dad? mom?" she asked weakly as she saw a puddle of blood on the nice marble floor.

"jords." her dad muttered weakly, laying on the floor, a knife wound on his stomach.

"dad, where's mom?" jordan whispered, rushing to her father.

"get out of here, go get lucius, please." jerald said, pushing her away.

"dad i don't want to leave you!" jordan cried and jerald summoned all his strength.

"go now!" he yelled, raising his wand to something behind her.

jordan turned to see her mother with a kitchen knife and an evil glint in her eyes.

jordan felt a rush of adrenaline and slipped under her raised arm, her father casting a spell to stun her for a few minutes.

jordan sprinted to the fireplace, flooing to the malfoy manor.

she didn't even wait for the dust to clear when she ran out of the fireplace into the middle of the ballroom.

"lucius!" she yelled and heard multiple footsteps run towards here.

"jordan? dear what are you doing here?" lucius asked, running down the stairs, narcissia right behind him.

"my father, he-i- help!" she said and lucius took her hand and apparated back to the jones manor.

"dad!" jordan yelled, running back towards the library, lucius on her heels.

"dad! oh my god, dad!" she cried, reaching her father who was passed out on the floor, the blood soaking his robes.

"oh jerald, oh no. who did this jordan?" lucius asked and jordan turned around to see a rising shadow.

"look out!" she said, pushing lucius to the side as her mother swiped with the knife.

"avada kedavra!" lucius cursed just as the knife cut through jordans night dress and stung her skin.

her mother's body fell lifelessly next to jordan and she covered her mouth, holding in a scream.

"jordan," lucius said, grabbing her attention, "go back to narcissia, i'm taking your dad to st. mungo's. i'll take care of everything."

jordan nodded, still in shock as lucius apparated with her injured father.

she looked around at her beloved library, the blood and her mother's body lying on the floor, before pushing herself up and going back to her room.

she quickly packed a bag full of random clothes before going to the fireplace.

"jordan!" draco said as she landed in the fireplace, rushing to give her a hug.

"jordan dear, come on, let's get you cleaned up." narcissa said, taking jordan and leading her to an extra guest room and bathroom.

jordan soaked in the shower a while before realizing she had a giant cut on her chest.

"oh honey, you're bleeding." the woman said, walking in while jordan was in her towel, the blood seeping through the black.

"yeah." jordan whispered, looking at the blood before breaking down in tears.

"oh jordan." narcissa said, healing jordans cut and then hugging her.

"i don't want this to end up like andrew." jordan sobbed as narcissa flashed back to the last memory she had of the boy.

nobody besides the jones' knew what happened, not even the malfoy's knew.

jordan however knew, and desperately wanted to forget.

it wasn't until a couple days later she got to go home, but she wasn't allowed in the library.

"dad?" she called and she heard shuffling from his office.

"jordan!" he said, greeting her with a big smile as he leaning on a cane.

"dad, how do you feel?" jordan asked and he shrugged.

"little this, little that, but i'm so happy you're home." he said, his green eyes that matched jordans perfectly, shining.

she helped him back to his office and looked around, noticing all the pictures with aurelia had been taken down and forgotten already.

"dad." jordan said taking a deep breath.

jerald looked up from his paperwork to see his daughter on the verge of tears.

"yes sweetheart?" he asked and jordan shook her head.

"dad, i don't want this to end up like andrew. mom was still your wife and my mother and she doesn't deserve to be forgotten." jordan told her father and he shook his head.

"she tried to kill us both jordan, i'm not painting her as a hero or martyr." jerald explain heavily and she nodded.

"i'm not asking for that, just please don't let us forget her like andrew." jordan said and jerald paused.

"jordan, what do you remember about that night?" he asked, referring to the night her older brother was killed.

"i remember you guys arguing at dinner, then i remember waking up in a cold sweat and hearing his screams. that's about it." jordan said with a frown, trying to remember her brother.

jerald sighed, "honey, he wanted to over throw our lord and rule himself, we had to inform him."

jordan paused and looked down. "so voldemort was responsible for the death of him?" she asked in a scary calm voice.

this made jerald nervous, "um, yes. but i promise you we won't forget your mother. no matter how horrible she was, you're right she was still my wife and you're mother." he said, getting off the subject of andrew.

jordan closed her eyes, flashing back to her brother laughing, his blue eyes shining and the wind blowing through his light brown hair.

nobody really knew they were siblings, as they looked nothing alike. jordan had her dads looks and andrew took his mother's, and yet they still acted like the slytherins they were.

"alright dad. how's the business coming along?" jordan asked, looking at the paperwork he was doing.

"very well, do you want to help me?" he asked and jordan smiled.

"nothing in the world would make me happier."
