daphne and jordan had to unfortunately split up for their first class as jordan had potions while daphne had defense against the dark arts.

when jordan made it back to the dungeons, she was surprised to find it already partially filled with gryffindors.

"ms. jones, a word please." snape had asked her the moment she went to sit down.

she nodded and followed him out to the hallway.

"good morning sir." jordan said once they were outside.

"yes, now i'm aware your mother sent you a letter this morning." snape said in his monotone voice, jordan nodding along.

"yes sir, but i haven't had a chance to read it yet." she told him and he narrowed his eyes.

"i would suggest to read it as soon as you can. it contains very important information." snape said and she pulled it out of her robe.

snape waited as she read it, her mouth dropping.

"what is this?" she asked him, deathly serious.

"i believe your fathers trial will commence in a couple days." snape said and with a huff, jordan stormed back in the potions room, sitting next to a random gryffindor.

or so she thought.

"bloody hell. you're jordan jones." the ginger next to her said and she looked over to glare at him.

"that's my name, don't wear it out." she hissed, making him gulp and look back at the board.

jordan on the other hand was busy pulling out a piece of parchment to write her mother back.

she signed it off just as snape came in and started to write on the board.

"good morning." he said sharply as half the class mumbled in response.

by the middle of class, jordan had zoned out completely, not even noticing the various looks she was getting.

"jordan." the ginger next to her whispered, nudging her, causing her to snap.

"what?" she whispered back, her voice sharp enough to cut glass.

the boy was taken aback but continued on anyways. "is it true malfoy's in the running to be a death eater?" he asked and she narrowed her eyes.

"who?"

"ms. jones, mr. weasley if you don't mind, i believe my lesson is more important than gossiping." snape said, glaring at the two but jordan glared right back.

"sorry, professor, but maybe when it concerns a housemate of mine, one of your students, i'd like to pay attention to that rather than some lesson plan you've made for the year." jordan sassed and almost everyone did a silent gasp.

snape just glared at the girl but she glared right back before snape continued on with his lesson.

by the time they were dismissed, jordan was already done with the day and it wasn't even ten.

unfortunately for her, she got caught behind a group of gryffindors on her way to her next lesson.

"you stupid bloody gryffindors." she said, causing them to turn and she glared at the five boys.

"excuse me?" one boy with glasses asked and she narrowed her eyes even more once she realized who it was.

"you heard me potter, you stupid gryffindor." she hissed, making one boy laugh.

"i remember you, you told off snape." a scottish boy said and she let out a humorless laugh.

"he had it coming. just like you bumbling idiots, now get out of my way." she said and they parted for her like the red sea.

"hey jones!" one called before she got too far, making her turn and glare.

"at least we aren't death eaters." it was potter, and she hissed, pulling her wand and getting ready to fight before cedric pushed her wand arm down.

"jj! what are you doing?" he whispered harshly to the girl who shook her head.

"i'm so done ced." she mumbled and he pulled her into a hug.

the gryffindors watched, stunned, before coming to their senses and hurrying to class.

after a few moments, jordan pulled away and shook her head.

"i need to get to class ced, i'll talk to you at lunch." she mumbled and he nodded, concerned for his friend.

"please don't go hurting anyone jordan, please." he said and she nodded.

"no promises." she managed to weakly joke before starting to head to defense against the dark arts with moody.

when she got in, she slammed her stuff down on her desk she was sharing with one of her housemates.

"jones, nice of you to join us." moody said and she waved one hand, face down to the desk.

moody shook his head before writing stuff out on the board.

"the ministry think you guys are too young to learn this, but i say different!" he ranted, jordan picking her head up to look on the board, her eyes widening.

"can anybody tell me the first unforgivable curse?" moody asked when he finished preaching.

"weasley!" he called on the ginger, and he stood nervously, explaining the imperius curse.

jordan just shook her head as he grew a bug and then cast the curse on it, causing it to leap to different people.

she didn't even realize draco was in her class until the bug landed on him, also unfortunate since he was right next to her.

"what the bloody hell moody!" she exclaimed once it started crawling towards her.

moody apparently got the message and flew it to one of the gryffindors.

"this bloody class." she muttered, watching as he attempted to get the bug to drown itself.

she could feel eyes on her and when she turned, she was met with draco's.

"what are you looking at?" she glared and he smirked, turning back to the lesson.

moody was currently torturing the bug infront of neville. and as much as she didn't like the gryffindors, it was painful to watch the boy be so uncomfortable and pained, watching the bug act like what his parent's had to experience.

"moody! stop it!" she shouted at the professor and he stopped the curse, moving the bug to in front of her.

"ms. jones, care to give the last curse?" moody asked her and she glared at him.

"it's illegal professor, the ultimate black magic. there's a reason why these are illegal curses. so no, i won't name the last curse." she told him and he flicked his wand, muttering the words of the killing curse, killing the poor bug in an instant.

"i would've thought you'd know that curse ms. jones."
