Chapter 13

You keep walking for about an hour. It's getting dark quick, you walk a little quicker. Soon you come across a few more houses, then a few more.

"Hang on, I think I know where we are," Ed stops walking.

He looks around a bit, then takes a different road, one that goes up-hill.

"You sure you know where to go?" You ask him.

"I know this place like the back of my hand," Ed smiles. He points ahead of you. You look to where he's pointing.

He's pointing at a house that the road leads too. You look closer and see a sign in front of the house.

You squint and see the sign reads 'Rockbell Auto Mail'. You smile, realizing you're at Winry's house.

You walk up the stairs onto the porch. Before you could knock on the door, it flies open and Winry bear hugs Ed.

"Winry, hi. Miss me?" Ed manages to get out.

Winry pulls away, "Where have you been? I was worried sick about you?"

"Oh, that's hard to explain. But I met (Y/N) when I was gone," Ed says.

Winry looks you over and gives you a dirty look, "She seems mean."

"Well, I'm not mean, so there," You stick your toung out at her.

"Is she your girlfriend or something?" She asks Ed.

Ed blushes, "Maybe."

Winry looks offended, then smiles at Ed, "Come on, Al's been looking for you too!" She grabs Ed's automail and pulls him in the front door. Ed grabs your hand and pulls you in with him.

"Alphonse! Where are you? Ed's home!" Winry yells.

Al comes around the corner, "Brother!" Al hugs Ed. Ed almost dies, you laugh.

"Brother, where were you?" Al says.

"Oh, buisness trip, no big deal," Ed lies.

"Who's she?" Al looks over to you.

"A 'friend' he met," Winry blurts, putting quotes around friend.

"Oh, is she your girlfriend?" Al nudges Ed's arms. You swear Al was winking.

Both of your cheeks turn dark pink.

Ed put his arm around your shoulder, "(Y/N) needs a place to stay for the night. Is that Inn up the road still open?"

"Um, I think so. She could stay here you know?" Winry says.

"I don't want to intrude, and it's getting late. We'll just go up the road a little," You say to Winry.

She thinks a little, "Fine, if you need anything, just call. The phone still works."

"Hey, where's Old Lady Pinako? She should be here." Ed asks.

"Oh, she's in town. Someone needed last minute repairs. I said I could go, but she insisted on going," Winry replies.

You look over to Ed, "Well, should we go, it's getting cold."

Ed knods his head, "Yeah, let's get going."

"Wait, Brother! You left this before you went!" Al runs into another room and comes back with a silver pocket watch.

Ed checks his pocket, "Oh, thanks. Can't beleive I forgot that."

He grabs the watch and puts it in his pocket. You both walk over to the door, Ed opens it and you step out.

"Alright, see you later everybody!" Ed calls as he shuts the door behind you.

You hop down the stairs and onto the gravel road. Ed follows close behind you.

"How far is it? You said not that far, but I doubt it," You say.

"Oh, actually, it's one town over. So we should get there in a half hour if we hurry," Ed says.

"You liar! We'll get there and it'll be dark!" You say, holding back laughter.

"Don't tell Winry that. I want to go into town so we can get a few things. And maybe have some alone time away from that old hag back there," Ed says laughing.

"Yeah, we got lucky she was away!" You laugh with him.

You walk for about a half hour, the in the distance you can see city lights.

"The Inn should be near the hardware store, let's hurry before the train pulls in at 8:00. The travelers take all the rooms." Ed says. He starts running and you follow close behind him.
