Chapter 16

You were walking home now.

You gripped the list harder in your palm. Not a grocery list. A list of ingredients, for a human body.

Envy had given the list to you earlier. He said to get these items in order to bring your brother back. You finished shopping and were now heading down the dirt road home.

You reached the fork in the road and turned left. You soon had Winry’s house is your sights.

You get to the door and knock, then walk in when no one answered.

“Hey, I’m home!” You yell.

“In here!” You hear Al yell. You walk towards the voice and get into the living room.

You see Ed sitting in a recliner, and Winry and Al on the couch. Al takes up two spots on the couch.

“Hey, you get all the stuff?” Winry asks, “Ed shouldn’t have made you do that, sorry.”

“No, it’s fine. It wasn’t all for nothing,” You say, shoving the list in your back pocket.

You go set the bags of groceries on the kitchen table. You head back to the living room. You see there is no spot for you to sit, so you go to sit on the floor.

“Hey, you can sit with me if you want,” Ed says. You smile and walk over to him. There’s not much room in the chair, so you sit on Ed’s lap. He puts his arm around you. You look at Winry and she looks jealous.

“So, how did the shopping go?” Ed asks you.

“Fine. It was fine. Everything was easy to find,” You say.

“You took longer than I thought, it’s almost 1:00.”

“Oh, I ran into someone I knew, we talked for a bit.”

“Okay, next time call me or something to say you’ll be late, I was worried.”

You nod. Alphonse looks over to you, “We haven’t really met before,” He says.

“Oh, I’m (Y/N). You’re Alphonse, Ed’s brother,” You say.

“Yep, that’s me. You know Winry,” Al looks to Winry, “She seems jealous of you.”

Winry blushes, “Am not! I just don’t feel comfortable with them cuddling in front of me!”

“We aren’t cuddling, we’re sitting!” Ed shouts, starting to blush dark pink.

Just then the phone rings in the opposite room. Winry jumps up and runs to answer it.

“Rockbell automail……Oh, Gramma! Hi!......Really?.....Cool!.....I’d love to see how that works!......Yeah I’ll tell everyone!...Bye!” You hear from the other room.

Winry bounces back in, “Gramma says they made a machine with moving pictures!”

“Really, like a photo that moves?” Al says.

“Yeah! They take it to different towns and show the public! They’re taking it to Risembol tonight!” Winry says.

“Oh, a movie! Cool!” You blurt, “Oh, sorry. You guys don’t have those.”

You turn to Ed, “We should go see it. Just us.”

“That sounds fun!” Ed says.

“You guys probably wanna go alone right?” Al says.

“Uh, yeah, I guess,” You say.

“It’s fine. They show it two nights in a row. Al and I can go tomorrow,” Winry suggests.

“Awesome!” You both say.

“They start the showing at around 6:00, so you guys have some time before you go,” Winry tells you both.

“Well, let’s kill some time!” You say.

You walk into the kitchen to unpack the groceries. Winry follows you.

“Hey (Y/N)? Can you come with me for a while?” Winry asks.

“Uh, sure why?” You ask.

“You’re going on a date aren’t you? You need to look nice!” She grabs your arm and drags you up the stairs towards her room.
