this whole thing was a mess

mako ignored the octopus and the panicked shouts of her classmates when he fell into their cage. all she could think about was what the reaper had offered her, and she had no idea what to do about it.

after his whole spiel, the yellow creature turned his attention to the surprisingly quiet female, and those that caught his attention shift went silent.

"heiwajima-chan? are you alright?"

she didn't respond. hell, she couldn't. what was she going to say? that she was possibly going to be the only one spared because that psychopath wanted her to become his fucking protégée? how would she fucking explain the reasons behind the offer? how would she explain how she even knew the bastard in the first place? how would she explain her line of work, for fucks sake?

"heiwajima-chan?"

but mako didn't say anything, which left the octopus to turn away and try to find a solution to their situation. mako briefly glanced when itona made his way to her side, patting her shoulder in a form of comfort that had her thanking him in a soft voice. he nodded, hearing the muttered words, but stayed at her side instead of leaving.

the reaper reappears when koro-sensei starts his whole licking the bars thing, saying, "this room? it's about to be flooded."

the students and octopus gasp slightly.

"we are in a drainage canal. when i send the signal to the control room above, water will come gushing in at 200 psi per second. and these bars will essentially become a giant noodle press."

karasuma tries to reason with the insane man, but he only says that he's definitely do it with the kids inside.

"well, of course i am. it's too late to wait."

the ministry man tries to reason with the blonde hit woman, and as he does, the reaper nears the bars and zeroes his attention on the girl sitting by the wall.

"hello again, little heiwajima. have you thought over my proposition, or do you still need a bit of time to think it over while your classmates are in danger?"

"what proposition?" koro-sensei demands, gaze shifting between the man and his student. karasuma and irina's attention was brought to the conversation as well, and the woman bites her lip at the confused glare the man was sending her.

"ah, i see. i'll give you a bit more time. i would like your answer before you drown, though, so that i can save you if need be." he walks away to say something to karasuma, and mako curls in on herself, ignoring the worried looks sent her way.

she didn't like this at all. on one hand, she could agree with the reaper and get out of this alive, see shizuo, kasuka, and everyone else again before the bastard whisks her off somewhere to train her as an assassin. on the other hand, she could decline and die with her classmates and gamble on the small chance that karasuma gets them out of this, but potentially get killed and never say goodbye to her brothers.

so, a lose-lose situation for her on either side.

just fucking great.

karasuma runs after the reaper, leaving them all in the cage and irina taunting them outside of it.

but mako didn't give a damn at the moment.
