John was off. Not knowing where he was going but knew that the numbers meant something. So he would wander until he came upon something that was a clue. But would this be a waste of his time? Samuel would sure be after him sooner or later and without a head start he would be sure to find him...

Wandering threw the brush for hours on end John finally needed to stop and set up camp. Surely someone couldn't have followed him this far. It would be safe. With little skill on how to set up camp John perched himself up high in a tree to keep away from animals lurking around at night. Once settled John found out that the sun was already low in the sky, and that he should be getting sleep. First thing the next morning he would get water and food and be on his way trying to get miles from his enemy.

Drifting off into a lazy snooze John was suddenly awaken by a snap of a branch and a scream. Bolting up right John looked down to see a figure moving. Keeping quiet he saw that it was a girl that had screamed and now was looking for a place to hide. Quickly John stood and whispered,

"Get up here." Another scream. "Take my hand!" hissed John. Reluctantly the girl took his hand still panting from the run. Her hair was sweaty and all over her face. Quite handsome she was, with light blond hair and hazel eyes and perfect bone structure in her face.

"What are you doing here?" she hissed at John angrily.

"I should be asking you the same question," panted John. Looking away from John she stared off into the woods as if looking for something. Suddenly a noise was yelled a ways off.

"Keep quite," she whispered.

And so John did, until the man that had yelled searched and when came up empty handed, left staggering off as if in a daze all the way yelling.

"Would you mind pointing out to me who that might be?" asked John with a puzzled look on his face.

"He is my father."

"And why would you be running from your father?"

"He's drunk." John said nothing. He had never been experienced with drunk people. Of course he had seen them in his village but never had he talked to one or was forced to be in the presence of one. When John didn't speak the girl took the liberty to.

"He is a very loving man, when he is sober. But he has had a problem for a while now. This is where I go when he gets like this. But this time he followed me."

"I am sorry."

"I dont need your apologizes," she spat.

"Then what do you need?"

"I dont know thats the problem. If I knew then I would have left long ago. What about you? What are you doing in these parts of the woods?"

Not trusting this stranger John lied. "I need to take a message and I set up camp."

"Whats your name?"

"Leon. And yours?"

"Sophia."

Even with some knowledge about this girl he didn't feel confident in sharing his real reason in this part of the woods or even his name for that matter.

"Leon?"

"What?"

"I've got to get out of here.Who knows how long until he gets to me? I have been able to put up with his for so long and I think its time to leave. Start a real life for myself."
