And she was ready to kiss the floor, but the impact never came. Instead, she found herself in a warm embrace. Her eyes were closed, her senses heightened by the smell of earthly cologne. She opened her eyes and came face to face with the curly-haired, handsome guy. As if in a trance, she couldn't stop herself from losing in his dark orbs. His arms tightened around her waist as if to indicate she was safe. And the next moment, she gasped as her heartbeat turned erratic due to the closeness. She completely lost her reasoning. All she could focus on was the tingles running through her skin and the butterflies dancing in her stomach.
The way his plump lips lifted upwards in a smirk and the way he slightly inched closer to her face made her close her eyes again. His handsome face, his milky skin, his sharp jawline, the heat he was radiating, and the way his chest was rising and falling with the same rhythm as herself were all she could think at that moment.
"Jake," he whispered, and his breath spanned over her lips. Only then she realized how close they were for the very first encounter. Her eyes snapped open, and she quickly recovered herself, pulling out of his embrace.
The moment she was out of contact, she whined internally, missing his warmth.
"I'm Arya," she replied with red-tinted cheeks. Her heart was still beating unevenly, and she knew that feeling would not leave her anytime soon.
The very next moment, she was attacked with the familiar smell as Jake once again came closer to her. Only this time, his arms were not holding her, but instead, he let his fingertips brush her cheeks very lightly. His feathery touch heated her face, and she once again drowned in his trance as he tucked a loose strand of her hair behind her ear. "You're beautiful, Arya," he mumbled, retracting his hand.
Before she could respond, he stepped away from her, still looking into her eyes. And she didn't know what to feel or what not to because that was hot. And just like that, he left her in the middle of the corridor. With tingly sensations on her skin and irregular heartbeats. She knew that's what she didn't need to feel for him, but she felt it anyway.

My hands stopped typing, and I didn't know all this while my heart was racing erratically. As if I was living that moment myself, only that I wasn't. I had never felt this exhilarated while writing before. It was new and exciting at the same time. I knew that's what I needed, what I was missing in my other stories. I needed Jake, and even though I would never allow him to indulge in my real world, I wanted him to be a part of my fantasy.
That's how our first encounter turned into a YA romance with a steamy twist, and I wasn't complaining.
