Mondays are never beautiful, not when you spend half of your weekends partying and another half writing steamy romance between hormonal characters. Why did I even sign up for something I wasn't good at in real life? My alarm blared in the background as I snoozed it for the nth time before finally pulling myself off the bed.

The next few minutes of the day was, as usual, I was too late to have a relaxing bath, but at least I managed a quick shower. Taking a cup of coffee and my backpack, I rushed to my classes. Thankfully I made it on time and made my way to the empty seat beside Elijah. He gave me a weak smile. We had not talked since yesterday morning. But before I could even initiate a decent conversation with him, someone tapped on my desk.

"Hey, Amy," Liz said, standing beside me with a made sweet smile. "Mind if we switch places."

My gaze quickly shifted to Elijah, who looked like a deer caught in a headlight. He was shaking his head, but before I could say anything, Liz said again, "Please. I promise I won't bite."

I wasn't feeling very enthusiastic either after all. I slept only like four hours last night, and sitting in the front row feeling half sleepy suddenly didn't seem like a good idea. Besides, I might as well ship them both. They could make a cute couple. Stop creating a fictional character out of everyone. I cursed myself.

"Sure," I collected my stuff and headed at the back, only to be caught in a much worse situation.

The only empty seat was beside none other than Jake. He wasn't paying attention to me, busy checking something on his cellphone. That was good maybe, he wasn't going to pay attention to me anymore, and that's what I was hoping. Not to mention, I could still pay attention to him, not that I wanted to, but I had my reasons. I took quite strides and quickly adjusted myself beside him, trying to be as quiet as possible.

Halfway through the class, I started zoning out. Soon my head found its comfortable position on the desk, and voices fading in the background. But of course, my peace was short-lived.

"You are not dozing off during the class, are you?" Jake whispered near my ear, and his hot ticklish breath was enough for me to sit straight up. I quickly wiped the slight drool that was starting to form from the back of my hand.

"Can't you let me sleep in peace?" I said with an irritated tone.

"No," he deadpanned. I snapped my head towards him and gave a questioning look.

"Don't look at me like that. This lecture is boring, and if you sleep beside me, I might as well end up falling asleep." He gave a glance at the professor and shifted his gaze back at me.

"So sleep," I said and straightened up. My sleep was gone, and for that, I was thankful, but the sudden comfort that I felt around wasn't necessary. I didn't want to have small talks or a comfortable conversation with Jake.

"I can't sleep without being noticed. However, you could, given you are small and almost invisible." He scoffed.

He did not mock my figure. But he did, and that did not fit well with me.

"Excuse me, I'm sorry that I don't look like the girls you make out with." I glared at him.

He stared back at me, and I saw a sudden change, the way he was looking at me. There was a spark, maybe it was all my imagination, but I saw the flames in his dark orbs.

"And that's why you are different." He said, sliding back on his seat, shifting his gaze back at the front. He was smiling a smile, which I saw for the first time on his face, a sun-kissed smile, the most beautiful one.
