"How's England?" Camila's best friend greeted her enthusiastically.

They finally had a chance to talk on her fourth day. The time difference between them, the classes that had begun that very day and Lyra's work made it difficult for them to find the time.

"I love it here so far," Camila confessed. The smile automatically spread on her lips as she thought about her last days.

"I'm so glad, Cami," Lyra replied softly.

She grinned. While she loved all the new people and places, this piece of familiarity, in the form of the nickname she had carried for as long as she could remember, was comforting.

"Well, tell me! Have you met someone? How is your roommate?"

Camila chuckled before she began to speak. She told Lyra that she hadn't had the opportunity yet to get to know her roommate Aki but that she had met and bonded with several other exchange students earlier that day.

With her never having left Spain before, getting to know people from other countries was beyond exciting. She had talked with one guy from Canada and one from Australia, with one woman who was born in Turkey and had been living in Germany ever since her childhood, and one woman from Scotland. Camila had experienced the biggest struggles in communicating with the latter. Somehow, the Canadian, Australian and German accent were all much easier for her to understand than the Scottish.

"Then there is Sally," Camila said then. "I met her on the train from London. She told me something about whales and then accompanied me to my apartment. It was kinda weird. We met up two days ago and have been texting since."

"She sounds cool."

That she certainly was. Sally was the person who was making her first week the most memorable. Camila had been in a euphoric state of giddiness ever since their meeting.

The idea to have deeper talks had only come to her mind the very second of its suggestion but she was most delighted that she had thought of it. She had never gotten to know someone this way.

Sally was different than she had thought. More interesting, more fascinating, more profound... Just more.

She was only bold and confident for as long as it wasn't about her, about her feelings more precisely.

Despite trying not to make assumptions or judgements based on looks, it was easier said than done. Sally had taken every characteristic she had dared to attribute to her after seeing her for the first time, conceited and confident to name a few, and surprised her.

While Camila was still telling Lyra about their talks, she received a text.

Humpback whale's songs are audible up to 20 miles away.

Camila snickered. She sent her a quick message before continuing to talk.

You could just say hello.

Sally's reply came almost immediately. Where's the fun in that?

"You really like her, huh?" Lyra said at the end of her explanations.

"I may admire her a little," Camila admitted. "But I have just met her."

She could hear the smirk on her best friend's face. "There is a fine line between admiration and a crush."

Camila rolled her eyes. Lyra had the habit of seeing romance everywhere.

"You should let loose a little," her friend suggested then. "You're always so tense, thinking everything through and planning every little detail. This semester might be a good opportunity. Meet new people, have some affairs and-"
