Jungkook had a bad feeling.
It was three in the evening and Taehyung was supposed to arrive anytime to take them both to the spa place. Seokjin had arrived way earlier, glad to take Hanbin off Jungkook's shoulders for a while and give the younger man peace of mind; however, Jungkook was not at peace.
You would expect that Jungkook knowing that the man possibly behind his son's problems is finally being held accountable would make Jungkook beyond and ready to fully move on from their pasts, but, despite how happy he was at first, his body was full of dread. He couldn't describe the feeling but it was as though his sudden anxiety had exceeded its normal amount. The sudden sense of doom made it hard to breathe.
Something was going to happen.
His hands were shaking as he stared out the window like someone who's paranoid. His neighbourhood was silent besides the few kids that lived there playing in their respectful yards. No moving cars or suspicious adults were in sight. Yet, his hand still shook and his chest and stomach felt heavy.
Jungkook couldn't shake the feeling of dread off of his shoulders.
He violently flinched when his phone started ringing. Taehyung's contact popped up on the screen and Jungkook sighed as he grabbed it.
"Hello?" He answered.
"Sorry, Koo, I got sidetracked but I'm close to your house now. You ready to go?" Taehyung asked.
Jungkook wanted to tell Taehyung about his concerns but he didn't want to ruin the day the older man had planned for them. Plus, this feeling could just be paranoia from not fully believing that Charlie was behind bars.
"Yeah, I'm ready. We'll be gone for two days right?"
"That's right," Taehyung confirmed, "two days of relaxation, a five-star hotel, complete privacy, you and I, and chocolate-covered strawberries."
Jungkook smiled as he thought about what Taehyung said. He needed so badly to relax and enjoy his adult life. It was utterly tiring being worried and stressed out 24/7 and the idea of finally relaxing his muscles and getting much-needed us-time with Taehyung made all the paranoia drift away.
"I don't like chocolate-covered strawberries," Jungkook said, his smile growing when he heard Taehyung huff.
"Well, we'll think of something later," the older man said, "I'll be there in a few. Bye, love."
He hung up and Jungkook placed his phone onto the table before walking towards the stairs to yell for Chanwoo. Namjoon and Jimin agreed to watch him for the two days to give Minjae someone to play with so she wouldn't bug the twins.
Chanwoo came jumping down the stairs with his Spiderman bag held tightly in his fat, little hand. Jungkook had tied the boy's hair in a bun but, of course, the four-year-old let it loose again so his unruly curls were bouncing all over his head.
"Are you ready to see MJ?" Jungkook asked as soon as Chanwoo jumped off the last step.
The four-year-old simply nodded as he shoved past Jungkook to run towards the kitchen. Jungkook rolled his eyes as he followed the boy in the kitchen, watching him throw open the refrigerator and grab a pack of Italian sandwich meat.
"Did you ask, Chan?" Jungkook chided.
"Can I have some ham?" Chanwoo sheepishly asked while shoving his hand in the package.
"It's not ham, it's salami and no you may not, you've already eaten."
The four-year-old's face scrunched up as Jungkook took the package out of his hand. Just as Jungkook placed the package back in the refrigerator, he heard car doors shut from in front of his house.
