Help Needed /~/ Taekook

Chapter Three

Saturday rolled around quickly and Jungkook didn't try to get his hopes up. Considering the way Kim Taehyung forced him to leave so early and clear disinterest in his tone told Jungkook that he had a very slim chance of obtaining the job. He's used to expecting the worst because it saves him from being sad and depressed with the results, however, he couldn't help but gain a little bit of hope over the past two days that he might get the job.

He didn't want to talk about it as it would make him raise his hopes even more but it ended up slipping out when he was at the park with Namjoon's husband, Jimin and their daughter. Chanwoo stayed with Namjoon since he was still sick but he didn't know they were going to the park so he didn't throw a fit.

"How did the interview go?" Jimin asked, using a baby wipe to wipe his daughter's face. He had been fussing about her clothes and how she got them dirty since she was rolling around on the ground with Hanbin who had also managed to get dirty.

"Not well..." Jungkook answered. He watched Jimin finish cleaning his daughter's face before pushing her away and telling her to stay out of the dirt. Hanbin ran after her and they both disappeared in a blue tunnel.

"What happened?" Jimin asked, looking at Jungkook who was frowning.

"I don't know...I don't think he'll hire me because I'm a guy or maybe I just blew the whole interview somehow."

"Well, that's dumb, were there only females?"

"Yeah, I was the only man there."

"That makes you extra special," Jimin smiled. "Have some hope, you'll be making more than many professionals if you get this job."

Jungkook nodded and left the conversation at that. As people began to crowd the park, Jimin and Jungkook decided to leave to which his daughter did not agree and threw a tantrum by throwing herself on the ground and screaming as if she were being kidnapped. Hanbin stayed quiet, clinging to Jungkook's hand as Jimin jerked his daughter up by the shirt and dragged her to their car while mumbling, "this is why I don't take you places, freaking brat."

"I'm jealous of Binie's behaviour," Jimin whined, subtle praise in his voice as he believed in positive reinforcement. "Look, Minjae, you should copy him."

With tear stains and red stains all over her chubby face from eating a popsicle, Minjae looked at Hanbin who looked at her and shrugged. She stuck her tongue out at him before looking at Jimin and doing the same.

"I'mma whoop your ass when we get home," Jimin stated before turning his music up to drown out Minjae who tried to talk. Jungkook could only laugh, looking in the mirror to see Minjae's deep scowl and how her cheeks puffed out in anger, mimicking an angry chipmunk. Hanbin had Jungkook's phone so he wasn't paying attention to anything but the balloon game called Rise Up.

When they arrived at Namjoon and Jimin's condo, Minjae had fallen asleep and Hanbin was nodding off. Jimin offered to take Jungkook home which Jungkook at first declined before accepting the offer as he didn't feel like having Hanbin whining because his nap was ruined and Chanwoo whining just because he wants to ride on a bus full of rude people. His car had been towed and he didn't have enough to get it out yet, but some of the buses offered free transportation.

"We're free transportation too, leave Hanbin in the car and you can use Minjae's car seat for Chanwoo, we won't get caught," Jimin said. "Namjoon and I never had Minjae buckled in the car seat until she learned to do it herself and we never got caught. Can you get her? I'll sit here with Hanbin."

Jungkook did as told, leaving his sleeping six-year-old in the car with the irresponsible Jimin. He unbuckled Minjae and carried her into the lobby of the condominium, not minding the sticky mess on her face or clothes because he's used to it. She shifted, wiping her red coloured drool all over his shirt. Jungkook cringed but didn't move her as he walked into the elevator.
