After the photoshoot, Jungkook decided to just ignore Seokjin who had continuously proposed signing a contract with KSJ or BigHit. Jungkook didn't want to be under company and Taehyung seemingly controlled him enough, he didn't want other people controlling things like his weight and appearance. Something Korean entertainment companies loved to do. So Jungkook opted for keeping the modelling gig a one-time thing — it made him uncomfortable anyway.

Jungkook decided that being paid half a million just for cleaning and taking care of kids was far better than having people control your every move. He was content with his earnings.

After deciding he had more than enough money saved for a comfortable house, he finally narrowed his list down a bit more, searching for a house around $300K (he could never imagine himself buying a $300K house but here he was) and applying for a mortgage. Jimin had told him he should pay the total cost since he had more than enough but Jungkook argued and said he felt more comfortable paying a mortgage and he could just pay it off when he wanted. He found a beautiful, fully furnished house in an equally beautiful neighbourhood just twenty or so minutes away from Taehyung's house but too far from Hanbin's school. Before making any more moves, Jungkook made sure Hanbin was okay with starting fresh at a new school and the six-year-old was more than excited to leave his "sucky" school and make new, better friends at his new one. This school also offered daycare for ages 3-4 with automatic enrollment to kindergarten but Jungkook would have to pay just like any other daycare. Jungkook wasn't going to do it since he assumed that daycares at elementary schools were more expensive than the other ones but he was met with a pleasant surprise when he went to enroll Hanbin. The daycare was way less than he expected and he enrolled Chanwoo as well.

When he officially moved into the house, Jungkook had shamelessly released a few tears and of course, Jimin, being the sensitive soul he was, also cried as he had been with Jungkook through the whole process (he rubbed it in Namjoon's face as well). Just two years ago — almost three — Jungkook was living lavish and receiving everything he could ever wish for without breaking a sweat and he had no appreciation for the things he received until it was taken from him along with his dignity. Then for two years — two years that felt like an eternity — he was on his own with two kids, working from job to job, barely affording his garbage apartment and was almost kicked out once because he didn't have enough money to pay for his rent. He had no money in the bank, on the verge of selling his soul to Satan and now look at him: he has a mortgage, he's living in an middle to upper-middle-class neighbourhood and all the bills were being paid by just himself.

Jungkook felt so proud of himself.

However, things at work weren't as pleasant as things in his personal life. You'd think that working with a child for so long would bring you two closer but it was quite the opposite, she was making Jungkook's job a living hell and was seemingly trying hard to get Jungkook the third strike. However, over the time Taehyung seemingly warmed up to him more, but their conversations were still awkward thanks to — what Jungkook considered — Taehyung's casual authority. Every time he talked to Jungkook or anyone really, he radiated authority but subtly and it made Jungkook uncomfortable and scared to say something wrong especially since he was trying hard not to get a third strike. Taehyung seemed to gave forgotten the strikes but it's been on Jungkook's mind ever since it happened. He and his kids had such a good life now, he would do anything to keep the job.
