Christina's POV
After working out, I sat on the kitchen island eating a granola bar and drinking water.I was lost in thought as my phone began to ring. "Hey girl" I answered
"Hey boo, what are you doing? You tryna grab something to eat? I'm starving and this stupid ass stole my baby"
I laughed "how he steal the baby, it's his too."
"Only half" she responded. "He talking about there some men stuff they need to do and he told me I couldn't come."
As much as she was joking, I could tell she was kind of sad she was apart from her son. "Girl, they'll be fine."
"I know I just miss my baby"
"You deserve some time to yourself. You're such a great mom."
"Shit I deserve more than that. And you do to, helping raising Anthony and all. Where is that little booger?"
"You're going to watch how you speak about my son" we both laughed but I had this achy feeling in my chest. I did think of Anthony as my son but I knew he wasn't and maybe I was being selfish thinking that way but I did.
"Girl bye" she waved me off "so text me where we should get lunch and we definitely deserve a spa day."
"Ouu, I'm with all that. Let me go get dressed and I'll call you"
"Mmkay muah muah"
"Muah muah"

I walked inside me and Kam's favorite restaurant. I spotted her as soon as I walked in. I could feel the stares as I walked to the table."Hey boo!" Kam shouted getting up. I smiled giving her a hug.
"Hey"
"These white folks better stop staring at us like they ain't never seen black folks before" she emphasized the last part.
I noticed the eyes but I payed them no attention. They were going to watch me live the life I had earned.
We sat and ate. We laughed, almost cried, and then ate some more. I was on my third appetizer when our server came up to us.
"We've had some complaints about this table and must ask you guys to leave?" The slight smirk in her face did not go unnoticed.
I looked at her calmly putting my fork down. "We're not going anywhere til we are good and ready. Mhm Kay" I said before continuing to eat.
