Ever since that day where the same age friend and neighbour spent the entire day together, they started to grow closer as time passed. They constantly exchanged friendly greetings whenever they bumped into each other. Haknyeon also never failed to drop by the cafe once in awhile not only for his free waffles which he got by completing his mission (chapter 7) but also to see his crush.

During his semester break, Haknyeon had his schedule planned out to visit multiple cities for his food blog and Hanyoung decided to join one of his trips on her rest day. Both could not be happier as they get to spend more time with each other.

As they were exploring for some good food in a small city, they unexpectedly bumped into someone that took Hanyoung by surprise. How small can the world be?

"Hi Aunt." Hanyoung forced out a smile.

"Who?" Haknyeon whispered behind his clueless smile.

"Ah, Hoonie hyung's mom." Hanyoung introduced. "And this is Haknyeon, our neighbour."

Aunt smiled as she nodded. "I see, where's your boyfriend?"

"Oh, he's working." Hanyoung blurted out with a lie. Hyunjae hyung is probably coughing like mad right now.

"On a weekend?" Aunt questioned.

Hanyoung blinked her eyes then nodded. "Yeah~"

"Ah~ Is that so? I thought he works in an office working hours environment." Aunt said in which she was indeed right.

Hanyoung nervously laughed while Haknyeon bit his lower lip in suppressing his laughter. "Well that's right but he's been busy these days..." Her words trailed off in hope that aunt would buy her words.

Aunt pulled off her sympathetic look. "Must be tough. Alright, I'm rushing somewhere actually. Do send my regards to my son and the rest ya?" She ended with her pleasant smile and bid the youngsters goodbye.

Once she was seen out of sight, Hanyoung ruffled her hair messily in frustration. "Can't believe I have to go this far just to stay in that house."

Haknyeon's soft chuckles could be heard and she noticed he was just right in front of her. She then felt her body stiffened when she felt his touch on her hair. She slowly looked up to meet his crescent eyes on her hair, adoringly fixing her messy hair.

After he was done making her hair look neater, his eyes travelled down and finally met her doe eyes who had been watching him. "We're running out of time, let's go." He chinned to the side of the pavement, snapping her back into reality.

"Oh, let's go." She mumbled as she tried to control her heart.

After a long day well spent in another city, they returned back home.

"Thank you for the day." Haknyeon softly uttered as they were walking down an alley to their apartment.

Hanyoung shyly hummed with her eyes glued on the floor.

"Oh?"

"Why?"

"Hyung."

With that, she followed his eyes and indeed Younghoon hyung was there at the other side of the road. She raised her arm and was about to wave when there was another person coming out from the car. "Boss?" She questioned herself with her knitted eyebrows.

"Boss?" Haknyeon repeated her word.

He was then pulled down and found himself hiding behind a parked car with her. "Why are we hiding?" He whispered.

"I-I don't know." She unsurely answered as she bit her fingernail feeling unsettled. Her jaw dropped when her boss was seen patting Younghoon's head as if they have a close bond with each other.

Still in her squatting position, she scooted closer to the other side of the car to have a better view of what was unfolding opposite of them.

"Aye, aunt~" Younghoon showed his bright smile.

"Boss.... is his aunt?" Gawking, Hanyoung could not believe her ears and eyes.

Once her boss had left, she got on her feet and came out from her hiding. "Hyung."

Younghoon turned his head and was seen flustered by seeing her sudden presence. "W-what were you doing there?" He asked.

"Feeding a cat." She monotonously answered.

"Am I your cat now?" Haknyeon butted in, trying to calm the tension.

Unfazed by his statement, she continued without shifting her gaze from her friend. "So... our boss is your aunt?"

Younghoon nervously licked his dry lips as he was caught from his own friend. "I-I can explain."

"Are you sure?" She questioned his statement since he was obviously seen speechless. With only exchanging of gaze and Haknyeon awkwardly stood by the side, silence engulfed in the air. Not long later, she spoke up again. "You know what, I'm out." She then left by taking an opposite route to their house, leaving the boyz dumbfounded.

Silence fell upon once again as they exchanged eye contacts. "I'm sorry." Younghoon started off. "But can you please follow her?"

Haknyeon nodded in accepting his request. He then quickly followed her steps so as not to miss her whereabouts.

After watching his figure quickly disappearing from the sight, Younghoon sighed in frustration. He ruffled his hair in venting at himself for messing things up. What do I do now??

Hanyoung entered the convenience store in their neighbourhood and got herself a coffee to soothe her anger. Was she really that angry to even bother to listen to his explanation?

Yes she was indeed mad, but it was mainly because she treasured her friendship with him so much that she could not help but to feel betrayed.

Haknyeon quietly followed her and joined right beside her at the high table, facing the transparent window.

"Can I sleep at your place tonight?" She asked knowing that he was there all along.

He definitely did not see that coming that he was caught off guard by her question. He spared a glance and she was calmly looking out of the window while sipping her coffee. "O-oh s-sure" He answered with his eyes back on the view outside of the store.

"Thanks." She replied. What could be the reasons that hinder him from telling me the truth?
