Bright ideas

Thanks to Glimmer, Bow was able to relax a bit, His mind having been taken off of the stress of trying to save the entire squad with his scrappy signal machine that may or may not have worked. Instead of gathering wires, he and glimmer found many stones that reflected each other's eyes. They even had fun playing and piling sand up into sculptures of each other, using the rocks as eyes of course. They had a great time, even when Catra got a sudden burst of energy and began running around on all fours chasing adora, who ended up getting tackled into the sand sculptures. They had a good laugh at the felines zoomies and not long after that Catra was sound asleep with her head in Adoras lap, purring as the blonde stroked her hair. Glimmer and Bow made the fire just before the sun disappeared leaving only the beautiful stars scattered across the sky.

Laying on his back and looking up at the sky, Bow took in a breath smiling as Glimmer laid with him. "I'm happy the stars are back... the night isn't so dark and scary anymore and they're just as beautiful as the books in my dads library described them" Bow spoke. His dads. They must be worried sick about him by now. They should have returned by now. Just then A few stars streamed across the sky. "Look. They even race!" Glimmer chimed in spotting the streaks of light. "Shooting stars" Bow corrected with a small laugh. "My dads told me that early historians thought shooting stars were rocks filled with explosive gases and if one got a crack and leaked the force would propel the star from the sky and sent it shooting across the galaxy until it exploded" Glimmer looked at Bow with interest. "Is that how it really works??" The young queen questioned. This made Bow laugh even more. But then again no one else in Etheria really understood the stars or how they worked since not everyone had their own historical library. "Hah.. no no. Actually they're not really stars at all. They're smaller bits space rocks called meteoroids that get knocked off course. The tail you see is actually the rock burning up like when it enters our atmosphere." Glimmer laughed playfully poking the boy's forehead. "I think I like the first one more" she jokes before curling up on the young archers chest. "When we get home I'll build a telescope... then we'll see" he said before smiling as he saw that Glimmer had fallen asleep.

"I agree with Glimmer. The first one sounds much more believable" Adora spoke up since she had been listening to the couples conversation. This of course caught Bow off guard as he let out girlish shriek. Having forgotten the other two were there.

Eventually Bow and Adora fell asleep after bickering for a bit about stars and their functions. One theory being that they might actually be giant glowing bugs that got stuck in some sort of sticky space substance, while the other theory of them actually being giant balls of gas burning billions of miles away was thrown to the way side as a ridiculous theory. Either way the conversation ended with both of them tiring out and falling asleep.

(Bows dream)
The earlier thought of his dads brought on some dreams that were so real Bow could've sworn he had woken up back in time. But infact he was dreaming of a memory he had of his fathers. In this memory Bow appeared to be about six or seven. "Hey dads. What's this contraption?" Bows younger squeaky voice asked his two fathers, bringing over a book he had found filled with strange drawings of machines that looked like art sculptures. Lance gently picked Bow up and sat him between he and his spouse. "Looks like someone's getting into the family business" lance smiled gently ruffling His sons hair. George glanced at the book and flipped through the pages. "Oh these are concepts for flying machines made from basic materials. The man who wrote this book was very smart. Unfortunately his name was lost to history. It's believed this ancient text actually came from another world entirely where concept as ridiculous as these might actually work" George put his arm around his husbands shoulder and flipped through a few more pages. Bows eyes were glued to the book as his father went of to explain more.
Funny. Even in dream he could feel the heavy breathing of his dads...

As Bow slowly began to wake he noticed a blurry figure above him that was breathing heavily just like his father. "Dads?" He asked in a sleepy voice but as his vision cleared Bow realized that it was not his fathers but the large snout of a horse in his face. This startled him causing him to scream in panicked surprise, of course this awoke everyone else who all screamed and flailed from their sleep. The screams startled the horse causing it to rear up on its hind legs and neigh loudly. As the four screamed another scream chimed in, A familiar scream followed by a shriek and a thud behind the horse as someone else had been thrown off. The horse then ran off away from them towards the water where it kept its distance for the time being.

As the confused screaming continued the Squad looked around and noticed something or rather a someone...s. "ENTRAPTA!?!HOW DID YOU GET HERE?!" Bow screamed gripping his hair that now had horse snot and sand in it.
"Aaaahhhhh iiii intercepted a signal and followed it to this location aaaahhhhh!!!!" She replied and continued to scream. "WHY IS EVERYONE SCREAMING!?!" Adora screamed over the screaming. Everyone looked between eachother screaming still "I THOUGHT THIS WAS A NEW WAY TO SAY HELLO" Entrapta screamed. "LETS ALL STOP SCREAMING!!" Bow screaming and with that said they all slowly got quieter. Catra who had accidentally buried her claws into Adoras shoulder carefully pulled away and dusted the blondes jacket off luckily she didn't pierce her skin thanks to the shoulder pads in the jacket.

Their screams echoed around the trench walls as they got quiet again. Then suddenly Bow began to cheer. "My machine worked!!!" "I thought we were done yelling.." Adora raised a Brow as she watched her friend dance about triumphantly. Glimmer smiled both glad and a bit skeptical on how exactly They had gotten here so fast. "Entrapta. I'm so happy to see you again." The young queen said as she receive a hug from the scientist. Adora and Catra being pulled in as well by the strange purple hair. "I'm surprised to see you all here. What a place to do some camping but uh I thought no one was ever to go into the black out zone?" Upon hearing that everyone seemed to stop and freeze. Bow stopped mid celebration and looked to Entrapta with a raised brow. "Wait. You weren't looking for us?... then why were you out here??".

"The pursuit of science of course. Hordak and I picked up that signal a few days ago and followed it here where we found you guys instead. Hordak thought we should avoid you because of his banishment and all but I said-" Entrapta was cut off by Glimmers disbelief. "So you mean to tell me that you had no idea that we were missing... and that the only reason you are here now. Is because you were hoping to find some first ones tech?...". Entrapta nods and looks around spotting Bows contraption and as she looks to the walls of the trench she spots the ship that had crashed there. Bow, Glimmer, Adora and Catra all face palmed at Entrapta's nodding.

"Well. Now that she's here. Do you think you and brainiac can get us out of here?" Catra asked The tech master as she wiggled to free herself from the crazy girls hairy grasp. Bow smiled brightly still satisfied that his machine did I face work and reach someone outside of the Blackout zone. "Of course. And I think I have an idea how to get us out and home. I remember seeing it in a book my dads had. They called it a hot air balloon" Bow smiled and knelt down in the sand taking a stick from the wood pile and began drawing out his idea. Meanwhile Entrapta pulled Her lab partner from the ground and splashed some water in his face to wake him up. Needless to say he had a rough journey trying to keep up with the eager girl. She would get sidetracked by new creatures and rocks that she would often forget that danger was all around them.

"Here's how we're gonna do it" Bow spoke up gaining everyone's attention.
