Chapter 1- Strange Things Are Happening...

3 years later...

The year 2030 in Earth-1610, home of Miles Morales, Spider-Man.

I sat on my bed exhausted from the day and got out a sticker sketch I've been working on. 

Ever since I met the other spiders, and becoming the only Spider-Man in my universe really changed my life.

 I eat, sleep, study, go to class, sleep some more, study, swing around the city, and save people's lives. It's a loop every single day of my life. Sometimes, I hate it, and I love it. Even after three years of doing it.

I pulled out my phone and opened Spotify to listen to some music. As I flip through my songs, I accidentally swipe my screen to land on my photo app and I saw the open photo that came from three years ago when I and Gwen met. I must have been staring at this earlier in the day.

Gwen was one of the Spiders I met years ago. They made me who I am. Spider-Man. I met her at school, and she was one of the prettiest girls I've ever met. She had pure blonde hair, olive skin that complemented her freckles, and she had the bluest eyes I have ever seen.

The picture was the one we took on the bus after finding she was a Spider-Person with Peter asleep in the background. She has the picture, so I took a photo of it before she left.

Every time I thought of Gwen, my mind replays back to the moments we had. I missed her more every day after she went back to her own universe. Then my mind flashed back to a moment when I cracked a joke in Science class and she laughed at it for how stupid it was.

What the hell, Miles. She doesn't even like you.

I cringed at the thought of that Flashback.

But she did kiss you on the cheek before she left, that means something. Maybe?

I also did miss the rest of the gang too. Well, some of them less than others.

But the one I missed the most?

Gwen.

Super obvious. 

I had a crush on her ever since I met her. I mean, it sounds strange, but it's true. I've never before had a crush on a girl- 

"MILESSSSSS!"

A rather loud voice that sounded like a female's snapped me out of my thoughts, I look up and see nothing, but my roommate Ganke, playing video games with his headphones on, blasting ACDC in his headphones.

"Over here, Miles!"

I took a look and gasped. 

Standing there was Peni, waving, right next to the window. She looked so much older. She had long hair that reached all the way to the small of her back, and she had grown up. She didn't change much, she was wearing a T-Shirt with a peace symbol on it, and she was smiling widely. She also had something in her hand that was bulky, and it was small.

She ran over and hugged me, and I hugged her back. It was weird seeing her now, but it was nice at the same time. It was nice to see one of my superhero friends.

"PE-Peni?!"

"It's so nice to see you again!" she smiled.

"It's nice to see you again too," I say, my attention going from Ganke to Peni to make sure he wouldn't see her, since she literally looked like an anime character and that would look super abnormal. "But uh, what are you doing here? My roommate's in here and- wait won't you glitch?" 

She gave me the item that was in her hand. "Actually, I won't. That little gadget is the entire reason I'm here,"

I studied the strange item. It was a newer design; it had a wristband that was made out of hard rubber, and it had a blank screen that was in the middle. It was protected by another screen on top of it.

I looked back at Peni, completely surprised at her appearance. "Peni? What's this?"

"It's a dimension hopper! I invented it while thinking about you guys! I couldn't help but miss you so much that I decided to figure out something that could stabilize your atoms so we could visit each other without having to almost die through the atoms separating your body apart! It kind of took me the three year to create it, but it was totally worth it," She smiled widely, bouncing up and down excitedly. "Try it on, try it on! I don't know how it looks, or how it feels, or if it works but I feel like it would be perfect for you cause of well I took an estimation of you wrist size based on your wrist shooter thingy for being a Spider, I have NO idea how you do that but-"

"Peni, to the point please."

"Right! Totally! Sorry. Yeah that's basically what it is,"

"Awesome. How do you work it?" I looked at the hopper and then back at her.

"You turn it on by tapping on it twice. Use the dial on the left side to pick between universes and press down on the dial to open a portal to the universe you chose. Keep the hopper on in your universe, or after possibly four or three of not wearing it, your atoms will become unstable and slowly kill you while you glitch." She said in a serious tone.

Noted. I thought as I looked at it again.

"Yup got it," I said, uncomfortably smiling.

She nodded. 

"Did you fix SP//dr yet? I noticed he was pretty busted the last time I saw him around," I asked Peni, and her smile faded slightly.

"Yeah, I did but he forgot everything since his memory drive was destroyed here. It took me like months and a year to like rebuild him, couldn't find the memory chip so I had to fix his sensory adjustments, his retinal scanner and his weaponry in his arms and now that I'm talking about my robot so much I just realized that he has the attention span of a child and I left him home alone, so uh, I'll see you later Miles!" she smiled, rushing through her words.

"Uh...Thanks?"

"You're welcome! I'll visit soon!" I returned the smile she gave. 

"I'll give some to the others! See you soon!" she said as she pressed something on her hopper and a portal opened. In the blink of an eye, she was gone.

Wait, does that mean I can see Gwen again?

My face lightened up.

"Miles, I'm getting some soda. Want some?" Ganke asked as he looked at me and as he stood in front of our dorm room door. He put his headphones around his neck.

"Sure," I said as Ganke smiled and exited. 

I turned "Sunflower" again after he left.

Needless to say, I keep in check 

She was a bad-bad nevertheless 

Callin' it quits now, baby I'm a wreck

Crash at my place, baby, you're a wreck..... 

I sat back down on my bed and started to doodle again. 

 A few minutes later, I felt a tingling sensation in the back of my head and it got stronger. My sense was going off and I turned to see what it was.

 I saw a portal open as the song continued through my headphones. I paused the music, wrapped my headphones around my neck, and stood up as I saw a black and pink-clad suit fitted around a female body come out of the portal. Her mask was on and she looked the same.

That suit could only mean one thing.

Gwen.

I could not believe my eyes, Gwen stepped out of the portal and took her mask off. Her hair was the same style it was the time she left, but longer. She had her suit on, and she looked more beautiful than she was three years ago. 

"Gwen?!" I said out of belief. She looked at me and grinned, showing me the gap in between her teeth. 

"One and only, and still fifteen months older, Morales,"
