Gwen's POV:
I was sitting on the edge of a building with my suit on and it was damp from the tears that were currently spilling over from my eyes. It was a few days after what had happened with Miles and everything got progressively worse.
Yesterday I had gotten a call from the hospital that while my dad was unconscious, he had a stroke and now he was in the ICU, being taken care of and there was a slim chance of him surviving.
The next day he was dead. My world came crashing down on me. I had no parents, no boyfriend, and a dimension hopping villain going around. I wouldn't be too surprised if someone else died next.
Then suddenly was a tingling in the back of my head, meaning my sense was going off. But what was it? I didn't want to be even bothered right now, but it was happening anyway. I turned around from where I was sitting to see a red and blue portal swirling open and there was a male voice yelling.
My eyebrows furrow as I look at the portal until a clad of red and blue gets spitted out of the portal, it closes behind him as the figure groans. My eyes widen seeing the familiar suit.
Is that Peter?
"Oh man my back," Peter says as he stands up, having his suit on and popping his back. "Much better, never doing that again," he says and then his eyes land on me.
"Gwen? Is that you?"
I nod, still in shock from seeing him after almost four years. "Y-yeah...it's me," I said, going over to him and hugging him. He wrapped his arms around my back and hugged me back.
"It's really good to see you again," he says, the eyes of his suit turning into small semicircles, letting me know that he was smiling. "Where's the kid?"
I know he's talking about Miles, and I clear my throat. "This isn't his universe, it's mine,"
"Ohhh yeah Peni didn't really give a manual on how to work these things. I was just going on a swing, and something bumped against my wrist and then boom I'm here. I don't have the closest idea on how universes work," he says, scratching his head.
I slightly laugh. "How's it been?"
"It's been great," Peter's eyes lift again. "I ended up getting back together with Mary Jane, and boom," he says, holding up his left hand which had a small, rounded bump on his ring finger.
My eyes widen in surprise. "Oh my gosh you got married,"
"Yup," Peter said, being proud of himself. "She ended up finding out I was Spider-Man and she was okay with it, just gave me lectures every time I got hurt. We ended up getting pregnant a month later and now we have an adorable three-year-old. Her name's Mayday,"
"Aww that's adorable, I'm so happy for you Peter,"
"Thanks kid. So, I'm guessing with these interdimensional thingies, you and the kid see each other a lot,"
My half smile drops and I nod curtly, not wanting to walk about something.
"Your eyes tell everything about your expression right now, so what happened?"
We both sit down on the edge of the building and I tell him everything that happened from alternate universe us to just a day ago.
Peter's quiet, contemplating his answer as he dangles his legs over the side of the building. "I think you need to talk to him,"
"I literally just said I was in no mood,"
"Yeah Gwen, I get that but right now you need help. I'm sorry your dad died," he said, making me flinch at the mention. "But you need to fix things with the kid. If he's being targeted, he needs all the help he can get, and it would help you both if you weren't on such a tightrope right now. There has to be a legible explanation."
