Chapter 3- New Findings

I couldn't believe my eyes.

I stared at well, us, totally confused at the uncanny situation we had. Different me spoke up first.

"Let me explain. I'm an alternate version of you, and this is the alternate version of Gwen."

"Yeah, no shit," Gwen muttered. 

"Okay so, I'm pretty sure you're really confused, but we have a good reason to be here," alternate Gwen cleared her throat. "We're here to warn you,"

"About what?" I said, looking at them as I walked towards Gwen lingering beside her. 

"Please tell me there's not another multiversal villain doing dumb stuff again," Gwen says, rubbing her eyes.

"Well, we were having a competition for how long both of us could hang upside down in an alleyway, don't ask, and some person had teleported in using a different technology than these," alternate me tapped his hopper, leading me to be curious how they got invented before Peni. "And we recognized the person of a villain back home, although the stranger was unidentified,"

"So, like alternate dimension stuff going on?" Gwen asked. 

Alternate me nodded. "We defeated our villain, but yours is probably evolving with their technology and for some reason the highest person on their kill list is you," he says, looking at me.

"Why?" I asked, completely confused and not surprised someone else wanted to kill me. 

"I don't know, but the villain that came after us, he named himself the Tinkerer, had some sort of grudge against me for not saving his family and his ambition caused him to get involved with the wrong people just to kill me,"

"Some mafia or something?" 

"No, worse. Kingpin."

My eyes widened. The last time we had gotten involved with Kingpin the whole multiverse was close to collapsing. 

I blinked a few times trying to process what he had just said. Another villain travelling the multiverse trying to kill us? Not the first time this has happened. Kind of.

"Wait, Kingpin?" Gwen said, looking confused. 

"I thought he was in jail. I put him there."

"We know it's confusing, but we had to warn you before something happened or someone got hurt," alternate Gwen said. 

"So what do we do about it?" I ask.

"When you find them, you have to figure out what they're up to or otherwise people will get hurt," alternate me said as something vibrated. Alternate me pulled out his phone and elbowed alternate Gwen and she looked over his shoulder and nodded. 

"We have to go, but please just take our warning seriously and prepare, Tinkerer is dangerous and smart no matter what universe they come from," alternate Gwen said as she did something with her hopper and a portal opened on the wall, the duo jumping into the portal as it closed behind them. 

"Here we go again," Gwen said after a long silence.
