Miles's POV:

Gwen helped me to the hospital, requested specifically for my mom since she was the best nurse there, and my mom helped me to a hospital room and was super confused when I asked if it was just us in the room but I made an excuse that I just needed one person.

Gwen had to go take Olivia to prison so it was just me and Mom in the room and I was super nervous, not knowing how this would go. Maybe I didn't have to tell her.

"Dios mio, this is a deep cut. I just might have to sew it up, but I can't do it with your suit on. Id there a chance you could..." she says as she looks around, finding a hospital gown. "You can just slip into this and keep your mask on so your identity will be still a secret,"

I nod along, but I sigh. "We don't have to do all that, it'll just be easier if I just roll my suit down or something," I say in my fake deep voice.

Mom furrowed an eyebrow. "Are you sure?"

I nod, and then I knew that she would know the second I take my suit off she's going to recognize me, so I nervously reach for the ends of my mask.

"Wait, hombre araña, ¿qué estás haciendo?" she says and then gasps as I tug it off my head to reveal my face. I smile awkwardly and wave.

"Hi Mama," I say as she covers her hands over her mouth and whispers many things I couldn't hear under her breath as she walks over and holds my face in her hands.

"Mi bebé es un superhéroe," she says as she looks at me, inspecting my face with her chocolate brown eyes. "I can't believe this, how long have you been this way?"

"A few years, Mama, and it's a long story how," I say while remembering the events that had happened a few years ago, meeting the gang and seeing Spider-Man die and Uncle Aaron die.

She kisses my forehead gently and gets up, getting a needle, thread and bandages out of the cabinet, and then locks the door. "This might hurt, mijo, but while I'm sewing you up you might as well tell me what's going on right now," she says as she sits in front of me while helping me roll down my suit to my waist.

"Well...remember Gwen, Mama?"

She nods and slightly smiles. "I do remember her. What about her?"

"She's a Spider-Ma-Woman too," I say as she furrows her eyebrows slightly and nods. I knew this was a lot for her to take in since I nearly risk my life every day.

"She was one of the ones who helped save the city that day, is that correct? Your father told me about the whole battle that had happened,"

I nod. "She's not from here though. She's from a different universe," I say, wanting to show her my hopper but remembering I left it at home in my room.

"¿Un universo diferente? ¿Cómo?" she says as she disinfects my stinging cuts and wipes them off, beginning to sew my arm up painfully. "Lo siento, pero necesitas quedarte quieto o esto puede doler más," she says as she works.

"She- It's a long story but she can jump between different universes, hard to explain," I sigh as I grit my teeth while she works.

My mom is silent for a while as she sews up the last cut. I look at her kind of worried. "Mama? ¿Estás bien?"

She nods. "It's just...a lot to take in, Miles." she says as she looks at me. "I don't want my baby getting hurt every day of his life and it would break my heart of you lost your life to one of those villanos,"

My eyes soften as I take her hand in my unhurt arm. "I'm not going to die, Mama. I'm going to be okay and I promise you I'll be as careful as I can,"

"Primero me enterrarás y eso es algo que vas a cumplir," she says to me, and I nod, trying to fight back tears because I don't like seeing my mom sad.

"Of course I will. te lo prometo mamá,"

She smiles at that, and when she bandages my arm she reaches over and hugs me. I hug her back, feeling safe in my mom's arms. That touch children love from their mothers, it's something I've always loved.

Tinkerer's POV:

I held the portscreen as the feed from my drone showed me Spider-Man's, or should I say Miles's back to the window hugging a Puerta Rican woman who he seemed to be close to. I could barely pick up on the feed sounds coming from them, but all I knew is that he was related to her and was close to her.

I smirked under my mask. Now I knew who to hurt to get him to start getting weaker.
