Miles's POV:

I was happy that Gwen was staying over with us, I honestly wanted her over because I didn't want her alone because like she told me before: People in her city can get pretty fucked up from encounters they have never experienced, neither have they wanted to experience.

Especially after her dad died, and now she was an orphan.

"Alright, we'll prepare the guest room for you Gwen," Dad says as he closes the door.

"Your Dad seems... Less of the person you told me he was," Gwen says, looking back at me with a perplexed look across her face.

"I don't know why he did that, he's never said that in his life to anyone that I've had over," I say as I go over to my bed and sit down.

Gwen's face changed from a perplexed look to an amused look as she came over to me and sat down.

"Have you ever had girls around here before?" Gwen looks up at me with a curious eyebrow raised.

"Uh, no," I say as I kind of scoot away from her because she began to lean towards me.

"Really? I could just as easily ask your parents as easily as you lie," Gwen says, getting pretty close to my face.

What do I do, what do I do?

Weirdly, I was starting to get scared of Gwen the way she was acting.

"Are you sureeee?" She says stretching out the word and leaning closer as if she was going to kiss me.

"N-No," I say, clearly getting scared by the panic in my voice.

Gwen looks at me for a second then sits up and laughs at my scared expression.

"What's so f-funny to you?" I say sitting up.

"You are so easy to intimidate, Miles," Gwen says as she laughs, and she throws back her hair out of her face, showing me the piercing in her eyebrow she had.

"Very funny Gwen," I say as she looks at me and smirks cockily.

"I know," she smirks.

The door then creaks open to see my Mom standing there with her unruly curls in a messy ponytail.

"Kids lights out in a few minutes, it's late, and the room for you is ready Gwen," Mom said as she smiles and then closes the door.

"Well, we should get to sleep so I'll see you in the morning," Gwen says as she stands up.

"Alright," I say as Gwen salutes and she opens the door.

"Goodnight Gwanda," I say as I lay back on my bed.

"Goodnight, Einstein," Gwen says as she smiles and closes the door behind her.

...

(Later that night...)

I turned on my side and looked at the clock. It was one in the morning, and I still couldn't sleep.

All I could think about was Gwen, Gwen, Gwen, Gwen, Gwen. She never gets out of my head because she's always there.

My sense then weirdly went off, it telling me someone was coming to the door, and the door opened with Gwen standing there in her suit, but her hood was on and her mask was off.

"Hey, Miles." She said, walking inside my room and closing the door.

"Hey. Why are you in your suit?" I said to her.

"Went for a swing. I got bored." Gwen shrugged casually, biting her bottom lip.

"Do you know how dangerous it is to wear a suit that just screams, 'Hey, I'm a Spider-Person! Nice to meet you.' " I said to her with a serious expression. Gwen rolled her eyes. I flipped on a lantern in my room to ignite it and for me to see the room and Gwen better.

"Well, I can't just take it off in the middle of your room, Miles,"

After she said that, all went quiet. She then sat on the edge of my bed, and I scooted over to her. Gwen looked even more gorgeous in her suit. She sighed.

"Is there a particular reason you went for a swing?"

"Needed to clear my head, and apparently I've been needing to do that a lot lately,"

"You've been through a lot this week, a lot of people would if they had badass superpowers like yours," I nudge her with my shoulder, which makes her smile. She scoots over and hugs me, her head laying in the crook of my neck. I breathe in her smell, which currently was lavender due to her hair shampoo. I wrap my arms around her back.

"I love you Miles," she says as she leans against me.

"I love you too Gwen," I say as I just sit there, holding her. I knew the embrace was something she needed. What I needed as well. If we were going to go against a scary seeming supervillain soon, we were going to have to do it together.
