Miles's POV:
Me and Gwen both woke up to our senses going off and a very nice satisfying boom that shook the whole house. I jolted up and Gwen sat up, us both sharing a panicked look.
"What was that?" Gwen asks as she gets up and looks outside of the window.
"I don't know, what is it?" I say, walking over to her and her eyes widen.
"It's Calamari and some other person I can't identify," Gwen says as she looks at me. "Could it be this Tinkerer person we got warned about?"
"Probably," I say as I get up, going into my closet and grabbing my suit that was at the bottom of my closet. I pick it up along with my mask and Gwen is looking at me strangely.
"That's where you keep your suit?" she asks while raising an eyebrow.
"Hey, I do my own laundry, they won't be suspicious,"
Gwen rolls her eyes. "If you say so. Go change, I left my suit at home so I'll be back," she says entering a number, 65 into her hopper and then she was gone in the blink of an eye. I quickly changed out of my pajamas into my suit and locked the door, stuffing pillows under my covers.
"Your parents are never going to think that's you," I jump and turn around hearing Gwen's voice. She was sitting by the window crossing her legs in her suit.
"You literally have to stop scaring me like that,"
"I'm called Ghost Spider for a reason," I could see the smirk under her mask. "Now hurry up Spider-Boy, we've got a place to be," she says as she then leans out the window, falling over backward.
I roll my eyes playfully. She's such a cute showoff, I thought as I jumped out a window and shot a web at a nearby home, getting the momentum to help me begin to swing. Gwen was way ahead of me and heading where people were screaming, smoke, and a alarm going off.
I caught up to Gwen and soon we both landed to see people running away from the scene that was in front of us. Smashed cars were scattered across the ground and there was a large broken hole in the bank and something smelled like it was burning on fire. In the middle of it was standing a crazed looking Olivia, who was currently holding a car in her upper longer arms.
"Where's Spider-Man, you idiots?!" Olivia yelled as her back was turned to us as she threw the car, glass smashing and a guy scrambling to get out of the way.
"That's kind of sexist, there are us Spider-Women too," Gwen says, getting the attention of Octavia as she turned around.
"You," she says sneering at Gwen. "How is this possible? I thought you went back to your universe,"
"Yeah well, throw out a welcome mat, I'm back," Gwen says, the eyes of her suit narrowing. "Now are we going to get around throwing your ass into jail or what?"
"How about I throw you into a building?" Olivia says as she throws out an arm, smacking Gwen into the side of a building, the glass breaking.
"Gw- Ghost Spider!" I said, immediately about to shoot off a web to help her, but she was already shooting webs at Octavia, shooting some at her lower legs keeping her off the ground and yanked, making her fall back.
"I'm fine, get her down so we can find where this Tinkerer is hiding!" she yelled as she swung down. I turned to web her up but she was already back on her feet, shooting a tentacle at me. i grabbed it and sent a shock down, getting her to groan and fight both me and Gwen.
We got her down in less than five minutes and had her webbed up. Gwen shot a web on her mouth.
"There, so we don't have to hear her whining," Gwen says as she gets up, out of breath, looking at me. "Is it me or does this feel way too easy?"
I nod while inhaling some air. "Definitely, but we haven't necessarily fought her by herself. She was with like Alchemax scientists or something,"
"That's because you haven't met me yet," a weird distorted voice said as both me and Gwen whipped around. Standing on a hoverboard of some sorts that kind of looked like the Green Goblin's when he was small, was a metal and purple dressed stranger. The stranger had a green visor over their eyes and they were holding something small and round.
"Who are you?" me and Gwen ask at the same time.
"Your worst nightmare," the stranger says as they throw down the bomb, it immediately exploding with purple smoke exploding from it. The force sent me and Gwen to the floor and nearby running people down. The smoke was hard to breathe and see through with a mask on.
I cough as I try to squint my eyes through it. "Ghost Spider?" I ask as I get up and look around.
"No Ghost-Spider here," I hear the same distorted voice before I get a hard punch to the face as something whooshes by me, hitting me square in the jaw.
The hell? I look around and don't see anything until the shadow whooshes by again, punching me in the cheek this time. Ow! Okay then, two can play at that game, I think as I call on my invisibility, and I looked down at my feet and I couldn't see anything. Good, so maybe I had a leverage on the person now.
I sneak around the smoke as it's just as thick as it was when the bomb exploded. I don't suspect anything until I feel myself being swept off my feet and my back hitting the ground. I feel something sharp around my neck, but it's not cutting me. I see the glow of green eyes in the green smoke.
There was a hissing sound as the grip tightened, choking me of air as I prepared to send a shock down Tinkerer's arm, but they held a hand a few inches from my face, extended long sharp metal claws coming from the nail of the metal hand. "Make a move to knock me off of you and I'll slit your neck here and you'll be dead before you can say a word,"
I stopped charging up my arm and the Tinkerer lowered their arm until they move swiftly, swiping their arm against my arm, making four deep claw marks in my arm, stinging and pain made its way up my arm as I gasped for breath.
"I won't kill you just yet, Spider-Man," they say as they let go of my neck, allowing me to breathe. "But just know it's coming soon. I'll kill you when you're weak,"
"Why?" I croaked out as I looked at the stranger bending over me.
"Because you," they say as they trace the side of their finger on my mask. "took everything from me," they simply said as they stood up and walked away, the smoke enveloping them as they disappeared.
What in the hell just happened? I thought as I heard someone walking towards me.
"Spider- Miles!" Gwen whispered as she rushed over, looking at my claw mark. "What the hell happened?! Did the Tinkerer do this to you?" she says, looking panicked at me.
I sit up. "Yeah, they did but I think I'll be okay. My mom's a doctor,"
"Yeah but she's going to be very suspicious if she sees you with a serious injury like this," she says, looking at my arm. "This looks like it needs to be stitched, these claw marks are deep,"
"What do we do?" I ask as Gwen sighs.
"We're going to get help and it probably involves telling your mom you're Spiderman,"
"What?! She can't know, she'll freak out!"
"Yeah but we don't really have much of a choice,"
I sigh. "Yeah you're right,"
"I know," I could hear the smirk in her voice. "Now let's go get you patched up. Once you're patched up you'll have to tell me what happened, and hopefully you don't get yelled at,"
