Chapter 2- Wait, What?

I was flipping through television channels when I landed on the news, saying there was a robbery by Octavia Octavious. I groaned aloud of annoyance. I had been battling this woman for three weeks non-stop and now I'm almost failing Biology because of that, the multiple absences and failing the quizzes that I couldn't study for that was bringing my GPA down.

Then my thoughts switched to the thought of Miles's version of her, and then I thought of Miles.

Of course, I'm thinking about him. I think I wanna go on a walk cause I haven't been able to clear my mind. Maybe a swing will help too.

"Dad, I'm going out!" I shout as I take off my house shoes and replace them with my ballet shoes. 

Don't ask.

"Okay! Come back in one piece won't you?" Dad shouted from the kitchen, jokingly.

I chuckle to myself as I walk upstairs and change into my suit. As I pick up my phone before I leave, my lock screen opened and it was set to the picture I took with Miles three years ago.

Miles..... I miss him so much.

I snap myself out of it and then I leap out the window without my mask on and then I pull it on as I fall. Then, I shoot a web towards a building, and then I begin a pattern as I swing to keep my balance.

It's been three years since I've seen everyone. I wanted to find a way to tease Miles, I'd annoy the hell out of him just to mess with him and make him smile, even after I kissed him on the cheek before we left. Then, as I was swinging, something hit me. It struck me so hard that it broke my web, and I fell but caught myself. I then saw multiple arms headed towards me. That meant Olivia. Then, the arms went away, and I heard combat noises. 

I raised an eyebrow, completely confused about what was happening. I pull my hood on my head and I swing over to where Octavia was. She was... webbed up?

"Hi, GWEN!" I heard someone shout my name and I jumped. I shot multiple webs blindly as then I opened my eyes to see... A robot?

Wait, It wasn't any robot, it was SP//dr. Weird. I thought he was destroyed in battle the last time I saw him. Wait how the hell did she get here?

Get it together, Gwen! 

The robot pulled my webs off of its face. Its display was smiling at me. It made a few whirring sounds, waving at me.

"Peni?" I say, in shock at seeing her.

"Hi!! Long time no see, huh? I bet I look super different, you look super different, like so good and amazing, what's your secret with your hairstyle? I like it very much," She was so different. Her hair was maybe a few inches longer than it was, reaching her back. She looked older but sounded the same. Good thing we were in the streets.

"A fifteen year old boy," I say referring to the shaved side of my head.

"Oh yeah I remember that happening," she says as I awkwardly laugh to myself.

"Yeah....What brings you here?" I say, shooting another web at Octavia as she stirred.

"I brought something for you that's not SP//dr," She laughed at her joke. She was sitting at a messy desk covered in papers and technology. In the background was a shelf crammed with books and a lime wall in the background.

SP//dr opened up his hand and handed me an item that looked like a watch, but its display was way too big to be a watch. The band was made out of a hard rubber substance. 

"It's called a dimension hopper. I invented it so we could visit each other without glitching! I already gave Miles one and he looked excited." Peni said with a smirk, and I rolled my eyes playfully.

Of course, he was excited.

"Just press the screen twice to turn it on and use the dial to choose between universes and press the dial to open a portal. See ya around!" Peni said as SP//dr opened a portal and he jumped in it.

I looked down at the device and put it on my wrist. I could feel it gently vibrating. I tapped the screen twice and the display turned on. It showed me a lot of things. The main thing was the universes, beginning at 0 and ending at 1,000,000,000. Lord, there were a lot. It showed me the time in the left corner and what universe I was in the right corner. It was so cool. 

The dial was set to Universe 1610. I got curious and pressed on the dial, and a portal opened underneath my feet.

I was thrown around, and I connected then the thing on my arm so I wouldn't harm it or break it. I straightened myself as I fell and the portal led me to a black and red portal. Miles's suit then came into my mind. 

I'm going to Miles's universe? 

I then went through the portal closing my eyes. when I opened them, there he was. Staring straight at me with headphones around his neck. He looked at me up and down as if I wasn't human or I was an illusion.

"Gwen?!" He said in confusion. I'd thought I'd never have heard his voice again. Hearing his voice again was great. Did it get deeper or what? Must have gone through actual puberty. I chuckled to myself.

I smiled. "One and only. Still fifteen months older, Morales."

"It is you!" He grinned widely. "Wait, you had the hopper too?" Miles said, looking at me in the eyes and then looking at my forearm.

" What the hell is a- oh, this?" I said as Miles came over to me and held up my wrist.

"Yep, Peni must have given it to you also," Miles said, pointing to his hopper, smiling.

I nod in agreement and I embrace him without him saying something else. I felt him hug me back, and I could feel him smiling on my shoulder.

"I missed you," I heard him mumble.

"Did you?" I say sarcastically to joke as we pull away and he laughs. 

Before I could say anything else, our senses went off and I pulled my mask over my head by instinct. Another portal opened, this time, it was different swirl of colors. Two people step out of the portal and they had outfits like ours on, tight spandex and masks on.

"Holy shit, our entrance looked so dramatic," The female person said, in a red and black clad suit that looked almost exactly like Miles's. The male person had a suit that looked...exactly like mine. 

"Yeah," The guy slightly laughed and then looked at us, the eyes of his suit widening. "Uhhh, G, we have an audience," The male pointed out as he elbowed the girl, nodding towards us. 

"We what-" Then the girl noticed us and gasped. "M, she has the same suit as you," 

"We went over this before we opened the portal!" The male said in a hushed whisper. 

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, hold on," I said interrupting them. "Who the hell are you guys?"

"Actually we just knew he," The male said gesturing to Miles. "was here. You were just an unexpected tagalong, but either way, we'll get our message spread."

"Uhhh, we don't even know who you are," Miles said pointedly. 

"Actually you do," The girl looked at the guy and he nodded, both of them reaching for the bottom of their masks and pulling it over their face. 

Miles noisily dropped his sketchbook that he had grabbed for defense, and my jaw dropped. 

The girl and the guy were us...but different. Different universe Miles had tied back dreads with blonde streaks and Different universe me had a boyish sort of haircut, with it shaved completely on both sides. Different me had no piercings while Different miles had an eyebrow piercing. 

"Holy-" I began to say but couldn't find words. 

Different me smiled. "Ta-daaaaa,"
