18. A New Era"MINISTRY SEEKS EDUCATIONAL REFORM - NEW ERA DAWNS AT HOGWARTS"
Hope groaned as she read the newest edition of the Daily Prophet. Her eyes flickered gold for a quick second before going back to her conversation with the golden trio. Harry was currently complaining about Umbridge, and how she was ruining Hogwarts. Of course, Hermione, Ron, and herself agreed evenly. They had to come up with a plan to get things back to the way they were before. Although Hope didn't know what it was like before, she hopes she can see it.
"PARENTS ENDORSE MINISTER MOVE"
The tribrid scoffed to herself as she read the newspaper for what felt like the millionth time this month at the bullshit written on it. Her eyes rolled to the back of her head as arms were placed around her waist pulling her back into a body. She smiled warmly as her wolf sensed it was none other than her boyfriend. Because yes, Draco freaking Malfoy asked her to be his girlfriend a little over a week ago.
"Why do you always read this? You know it's nothing but rubbish."
Hope turned in his arms running her hands up and down his forearms. She eyed him from her spot in front of him, "Yeah, well, everything she is doing doesn't make everything worse for you."
And that was also true. Draco was a Slytherin, and one of Umbridge's favorites. He had everything going for him which is how they were even able to sneak out and see each other every other night. Umbridge was doing everything in her power to make the certain Gryffindor's lives a living hell, and they were almost too fed up to not do anything else about it.
Draco sighed, pulling the tribrid tightly into his arms and placing kisses all over her face. The Slytherin realized then that he was completely head over heels for her. She let him feel like himself, someone who wasn't driven for power like his father wanted him to be, or someone who wasn't the school bully. He hated having to act that way, the mere thought of it making him feel guilty all over.
He would've rather been great friends with Harry Potter than enemies. It wasn't what he wanted but it was what he had to do. Hope understood from the little that he told her that he was created and made to do certain things to make his father happy. Things he didn't want to do but things he had to. Even now, being Umbridge's favorite, it was something he had to be."I'm sorry, love. But if you'd just stay out of her way as she... creates a better Hogwarts, she might even like you. Better yet, leave that horrid golden trio that you keep going back to."
Hope shook her head, "I won't back down from that woman, Draco. I refuse to. You know that."
The Slytherin boy only sighed, arms tightening around her even more, "I know. And that's another reason to like you, you and your stubbornness."
