UNEDITED 32. The Truth Comes Out
"You're telling me that he still dies in the end?! What kind of bloody ending is that?" Hope chuckled at her boyfriend as he pointed at the tv with his free hand. For their second day of break, Hope got Draco to agree to watch all her favorite muggle movies. So far, the two had watched some of her Disney favorites that her mother introduced to her, and a couple that she had watched with her old- ex-friends. At the moment, the two were finishing up The Fault in Our Stars, which was one that Hope had always loved. She didn't know why she had loved that movie so much, seeing as it had such a sad ending, but nonetheless, it was one of her favorites and now her boyfriend was experiencing the pain she had the first time she watched it herself.
"Tell me there's some alternate ending because that was just- who does that?"
The tribrid hugged into the Slytherin's side even more than she already was, shaking her head as an answer to his question. This made him even more upset. How could Augustus keep such a thing from her until the very end? He was for sure that Hazel was going to be the one to go, and just when he had mentally prepared for that- Gus died.
Draco shook his head and shuffled on the shared bed in their spelled classroom turned bedroom until he was lying flat on his back looking up at the ceiling with his arm still beneath Hope. She followed his action as the credits of the movie began to roll. Together they laid flat on their backs looking up at the ceiling of the room, but instead of Draco's arm being around her, it was between them with their hands interlocked together.
"Promise me that you'll never leave me like that."
Although Hope wanted to retaliate with a sassy response about how she could heal herself, or maybe comment slyly about how with her genes, she couldn't even think to get sick, she didn't. Because she knew that Draco didn't want to say goodbye to her so suddenly like in that movie. She wouldn't want to either, so she stayed quiet and tightened her grip on his hand, rubbing the backside of his hand with her thumb slowly.
"I promise, I won't."
There, lying beside each other on the bed, hands held together like glue, minds shared, Hope felt more than guilty because she still hadn't told Draco about her being a tribrid. He still called her his little witch and still talked about how she was one crazy, precise witch. This all made it even harder for her to even look him in the eye. How could she look him in the eye when she was still lying to him?
"You know, I've always wondered, how have all these years at Hogwarts been for you? I've heard all these things happening with Harry and the rest of the trio, but what about you and Blaise?"
