36. This Is All For You

The eye contact between Harry and Draco was too much for the room to handle. Harry, who was overprotective of his alpha and friend, and Draco, who wanted nothing more than to be the one holding the tribrid's hand.
Umbridge had made sure that all of the students in the room were taken into another room to be watched by the Slytherins under her control. Hope had only made brief eye contact with Blaise as she was hauled by her arm along with Harry to Dumbledore's office.

Cho struggled to keep up behind them, and as much as Harry wanted to turn around and check on her, he didn't. He couldn't believe she had willingly given them up, but even if it wasn't under her complete control, he still had unimaginable feelings of betrayal lingering in the pit of his stomach.

They were led to Dumbledore's office by Umbridge, who stopped momentarily to open a door where a very important-looking man walked out. He wore a suit with a coat and hat, almost like a government official. Hope supposed he was since Umbridge had started babbling on about how she knew us troublemakers were up to no good.
She mentioned "Dumbledore's Army" just as they made their way into the office space of the Hogwarts Headmaster. "All your fearmongering about You-Know-Who never fooled us a minute!" The young man holding onto Hope and Harry's arms stopped just as Umbridge did, and the two of them looked over at Cho as she was stopped right beside them.

Hope huffed out a large breath as Harry looked at her with eyes full of betrayal. Hope couldn't blame him, and she knew he had liked her at one point or another. Hope was so used to being in trouble that none of this frightened her, and she could clearly see that Cho looked terrified.
The tribrid had been called into a headmaster's office more than enough times to know how to get out of trouble, and even now, she knew she could get her way out of this with or without magic.

"We saw your lies for what they were, a smokescreen for your bid to seize control of the ministry!"

Hope could hear every beat of the lying Umbridge's heart, but of course, she could say nothing to prove it. The man looked from Umbridge to Dumbledore, who sat on the edge of his desk with a passive look on his face. "Naturally."

Harry could no longer hold in his words and began to struggle against the man holding them. "No, professor! He had nothing to do with it. It was me!" Hope smiled shortly, "Well, us, if you're being truthful."

"Most noble of you, Harry, Hope, to shield me but as it has been pointed out, the parchment clearly says Dumbeldore's Army. Not Potter's, nor Mikaelson's. I instructed Harry and Hope to form this organization, and I, and I alone, am responsible for its activities."

Both the tribrid and wizard looked at Dumbledore, Harry with shock, and Hope with curiosity. Too soon the man, Fudge, Hope learned was his name, was opening his mouth and announcing that Dumbledore would be taken to Azkaban by the two men behind him. The man holding the two let go of their arms with caution, as did the man holding Cho. The one thing that made Hope tilt her head was the fact that the man wanted to put everything in The Daily Prophet.
