42. Everything Must Come To An End

⚜️

The following days were filled with students looking at Harry like he was someone from outer space. The newspapers were filled with headlines about what happened. It couldn't be overlooked anymore. The minister himself had seen the fading form of Voldemort, and now everyone else knew what Harry had been saying all this time was true.

"He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named Returns"

At least things at Hogwarts were returning to normal.

"Hogwarts Headmaster Reinstated"

Dumbledore was back in his rightful place as Headmaster of Hogwarts, as the students all wanted it to be. Hope spent the days after what had happened thinking over the prophecy she heard about Harry. In her mind, though, it could have been about her as well. It didn't state if the person was he or she, and after the vision that she was shown by Aeron, she couldn't help but think it was actually about her.

In the vision, she was the one who sacrificed herself, but so was Harry. They both died. They both sacrificed themselves. Harry's life force went to her and gave her the power to take over Voldemort and end him, once and for all.
The tribrid sighed as she packed the last of her things into her trunk. Where she was going? She had no idea. She didn't know if she should go back to The Salvatore School, or just roam England and hope no one knew she had nowhere to go. Hermione offered to let her come home with her for the summer, and Harry too, but they all knew she would not be welcomed. There wasn't anywhere for her to go. Apollo was going to spend the summer with Blaise, and as much as she wanted to spend the summer with her boyfriend, she knew it could never happen.

Hermione was on the other side of the bed getting the rest of her things together, the shuffling of her clothes the only sound in the room. They were all solemn since that night. None of them knew just what to say to each other. The wizarding world's biggest enemy was back and the only person that could stop them was Harry Potter, the boy who lived. And Hope.

Not that anyone knew that.

Hope sat on her bed with her legs crossed, eyes on the outside world from their shared window. The sun was setting over the enchanted forest that she grew to love, birds chirping as they flew through the air to their nests. "So, where will you be going this summer? You've refused all of our offers. I assume you have somewhere to go."
The tribrid looked over at the witch and sighed softly, "Honestly, I'm still not sure if I will be going home to New Orleans, back to The Salvatore School, or... just roaming around England." Hermione placed her hands on her hips as a mother would, eyebrow arched high into her side-swept bangs. "Just roam around England? Hope, that isn't safe. Not now. Especially because... he knows who you are."
