A Glimpse in Paradise

Chapter 01

I'm busy preparing my speech for tomorrow's event in school. It was almost midnight but I don't have the guts to type something right now. I'm sitting here for almost hours! Madam principal might scold me tomorrow if I'm not yet prepared.

Yup, I'm an English teacher. I'm teaching senior high school department. Ugh! Why did I choose this profession, anyway? Being a teacher is more like being a student again. Wake up every day, review some lessons every night, and whatsoever! But at the same time, it satisfies you, knowing that your students are learning and improving on their studies. Well, I guess.My mom chose this profession for me, she wanted me to follow in her footsteps! But I can't say no to her.

Nagtimpla muna ako ng kape para magising hanggang sa matapos ko at saka bumalik sa taas. Paano ba naman kasi, the supposedly inspirational speaker for tomorrow's event has an important matter to do and kanina niya lang sinabi!

Luckily unlucky, I was the one who was in the office, busy printing some exam sheets. I can't say no or reject madam principal.

I kept on crumpling some papers and finally, I finished everything at exactly 3 a.m. Feeling ko talaga buong buhay ko ang iku-kuwento ko mamaya sa mga students dahil inabot ako ng ganitong oras. Tapos sabog pa ako slash puyat? Aba'y gago niloloko yata ako ni Madam principal eh. Sana naman ay dagdagan niya ang sweldo ko 'no! Hay nako, makatulog na nga!

I woke up at exactly 7:30 in the morning. Mamaya pa namang 9 ang event. Tapos pagdating mo dun di pa pala nag uumpisa. Aantay ka ulit ng isang oras bago mag umpisa! Filipino time nga naman!

I walked towards the bathroom and put off my clothes to take a bath. Duh, hello sosyal kaya ako. Tulad ng mga nababasa ko sa wattpad dati mga mayayaman. Feeler ako eh so wala kang pake. Yun nga lang at walang naghihintay sakin sa baba para sunduin ako.

As if naman wala akong kotse? Tsaka may pang gas ako kaya no need na, hmmp!After I took a bath.. I went to my closet. Duh, may closet rin ako, kala niyo mga artista lang meron?

Speaking of artista, parang gusto ko rin na umarte pero dapat walang kissing scene kasi baka bigwasan ko 'yong director amp! If hindi papalarin, kahit non showbiz girlfriend na lang. Ehe enebe peren tenge nemen eh!

I chose a simple beige dress and a beige korean sandals. Lord, sana naman biyayaan mo rin ako ng height, hindi puro ganda lang! Maawa ka naman sakin huhu.

Duh shempre pag may walk-in-closet, may vanity mirror din 'no. Hindi yung vanity na pride ah. Vanity is one of the seven deadly sins. So, girls, let's lessen our pride dahil baka mag hintay tayo sa porgatoryo kung saan tayo ipapadala, langit o lupa.

I checked my outfit if it's kinda bagay. Then, may make up table rin ako kaya do'n muna ako mag-aayos. I blow dried my hair first before putting some light make up on. Baka kasi pagkamalan akong artista ng mga students ko kapag nag todo effort ako today. Hello, ako lang 'to oh!

After putting some light make up, kinuha ko naman ang curler. Hindi yung curler sa eyelashes, kundi curler sa buhok. I curled my hair naturally. Siyempre sanay na kasi akong mag ayos ng sarili ko dahil simula nung high school to college ay panay ang event.
