This story is taken place in high school when Avani moves from Indiana to LA. She meets this mysterious boy and makes new friends along the way. Will she ever find out more about this mysterious boy?

Avani's Pov I wake up to a loud banging sound. I slowly open my eyes and realize it's my door. "Avani Kiana Gregg open this door right now!" I hear my mind voice. I start panicking and I feel a hand touch me and I jump. I realize it's Anthony and I smile. "Shit hide" I say in a quiet tone and his eyes widen and he quickly gets out of my bed and hides in my bathroom. I walk over to my door and I clock it and it swings open. "I don't want this door locked do you hear me!" She snapped and my eyes widen. "You will have to earn my trust back so for now on there will be some newly set rules" she said and I placed my hand on my head. "First rule, door stays unlocked and open" she says. "But-" I say but am cut off. "Not but's" she snapped. "Second rule, no friends over" she said and I just looked at her angrily. "Third rule, no going out anywhere you have to just go straight to school and straight home" she continued. "Fourth and finally rule, if I hear anything and I mean anything about you skipping school or leaving anywhere but school and home, I will ground you for life Mark my words Avani!" She finished and walked out of my room. Great just what I needed. I slam my door and I hear her footsteps come back. "I said door open! Now get ready for school!" She yelled and I just turned around with tears forming in my eyes. I grabbed some clothes from my closet and I went into the bathroom and shut that door quietly. Anthony was stood there and I fell into his arms. He hugged me tightly. "Please tell me you didn't hear that" I say into his shirt. "Just a little bit" he said and I covered my eyes. "Hey, it will all work out okay" he said lifting my chin up and giving me a quick kiss. "I have to get you out of here before my mom catches us" I say and he nods. I grab his hand and peak out of my bathroom door. I quickly walk over to my window and he jumped out of it giving me a quick kiss before climbing down. I close and lock my window back up then I go back into my bathroom and put on this outfit.

I didn't feel like dressing up today. In fact I didn't feel motivated to do anything after my mom yelled at me. I finished getting ready and I grab my backpack and go downstairs. My mom was in the kitchen. "Straight to school" she said and I just ignored her and walked out the door. Anthony was already in his car pulled out in front of my house which was weird. I got in and just sat there. "You okay?" He asked and I nodded. I felt his hand intertwine with mine and he began to drive. I haven't eaten anything. I didn't feel like it. The whole car ride was silent.
When we made it to school I felt a little better. Anthony parked the car and placed his hand on my cheek. "Are you sure your okay?" He asked. "Yeah" I say and with that we both got out of the car. Anthony grabbed my hand and we got stares from all over. I didn't care anymore. Then I saw them. The boys and girls. "Vani!!!" Addison yelled and they all ran up to us and gave us a hug. They all started talking at once asking us a lot of questions and me and Anthony just looked at each-other. Soon silence. "You two seem out of it" Addison said taking a close look at my swollen eyes. "Everything okay?" Addison asked. "Mhm" I say and I begin to walk with them following. Anthony and the boys split off somewhere while the girls came with me to my locker. "We missed you so much" char said and I gave her a hug. "I missed you guys to" I say letting go of Charli and grabbing the stuff I needed for school. We all walk to homeroom.
"Vani you know were here for you right?" Charli asked and I nodded as we sat down. "What's wrong Vani for real?" Addison said and I explained the whole situation. They of course comforted me and told me everything was going to be fine. But was it though? My life just felt like it came to a halt and was staying in this area where I didn't feel anything. I felt numb and didn't have any motivation. I didn't even feel human anymore. *skips to first hour* I sit down in my normal corner seat and I lay my head down. My stomach is twisting and turning from not eating in almost two days. I just ignore it. I felt a soft hand run up and down my back and I look up and see Anthony. I smile and lay my head back down. *skips to lunch* Let's just say I was having a crappy day. I definitely didn't want to be here at all. I didn't eat lunch either I just sat at the table and talked only a little with the group while they informed us on what happened and how everyone thought we skipped town together. I just rolled my eyes at the conversation. Some people make up the craziest rumors. *skips to after school* Finally school is over. I was relieved until I remembered I had to go home and stay there. Almost trapped in a way. I walk to my locker and put my stuff in my backpack. I then walk out of the school and I find Anthony so I go up to him. He gave me a hug. "You ready?" He asked and I nodded. I waved to the girls and the boys and we went into his car. "Alright I'm not moving this car until you tell me what's wrong" he said and I rolled my eyes. My stomach has a sharp pain and I jolt. "Are you okay" Anthony asked concerned. "Yeah just a pain" I say. "Have you eaten?" He asked and I stay silent. "Babe you know that's not good for you..." he said in a calming tone. "I know" I say placing my head in my hand. "I'm getting you food" he said. "But I have to go straight home" I say. "It's on the way" he said and I couldn't argue with him. He was driving.
We stopped at McDonald's and he got me nuggets and fries and something for himself. He then parked the car in the parking lot and handed me my food. I just kind of looked at it. "Please baby" he said and I couldn't resist his cute face. I pick up a chicken nugget and take a small bite. "See there you go... you got this" he said and a soft smile formed on my lips. Before I knew it I had eaten more than I thought I would. My stomach was finally at ease now. Anthony grabbed my hand. "I'm proud of you beautiful" he said which made me smile. I gave him a quick kiss before he started the car and drove to my house. I felt the pit in my stomach disappear when I saw my mom wasn't home yet. I gave Anthony a long hug and a kiss before thanking him and walking quickly into my house. It was quiet. I hated it. I went straight to my room and almost closed my door before I remembered the new "rules." I threw my bag on the ground and climbed into my bed with my face in the pillow.
After around 2 minutes of procrastinating I finally decided to take a shower. Once I got out I put on sweats and one of Anthony's hoodies that still smelled like him. It made me happy. I still had puffy eyes from crying this morning and eye bags from the lack of sleep but other than that I felt okay. I hear the front door open so I just go lay back down on my bed. "Vani!" My mom yelled. I just stayed quiet and I heard as her feet stomped up to my room and to my doorway before slowly and quietly walking away. She probably thought I was sleeping. I mean I wasn't complaining. Eventually I fell asleep.
