Jack's POV
"You ready for your party later?" My friend Blake asked with a big grin on his face, his blue eyes sparking.
I grin. "Hell yeah!"
I was finally sixteen and I couldn't be more excited. My mind taking me back to when I was six. I was brushing my teeth getting ready for bed when some old man popped behind me in a flash of bright light.
I screamed so hard and loud I lost my voice, my parents rushing to the bathroom to see what all the fuss was about. They were shocked to see the old man in a long white robe.
The old man telling me that in ten years I was going to have to search for my destiny...and that time has finally came. It was my sweet sixteen today and I was hella excited!
"What time does the party start again?" My other friend, John asked, coming up to Blake and I by our lockers.
I snap out of my head and answer him. "Six and it's at Connor's house, his parents are gone for the week." I finish with a smirk.
"Awesome!" John says with a smile before going to his locker to get his stuff for the day and then head out. School was over and I couldn't wait to party the weekend away.
Soon the old man should be seeing me again, to point me in the right direction of my destiny and then I would leave. I knew my parents were not going to be happy with me leaving school and going off on my own, but they would understand.
"See you later." I tell Blake, as we do our bro handshake and then am off. I run out of the school building, ignoring the teachers and even some bossy students telling me to slow down or walk, they could kiss my ass.
Once out of the school building, I get into my hot fresh new ride. Yeah, my parents did the whole new car for my sixteen birthday thing but I was happy for it, now I could just drive to wherever my destiny would be.
Later
Whoa! I climb up the stairs and make it to the bathroom, finally able to catch a breather. Don't get me wrong I love to party, but sometimes you just needed your own private space.
It was nine now, and it was down to a mix of people that were about to go home or decide to pull an all nighter. I told my parents I would be home at ten, so as much as I wanted to party all night long, I couldn't.
"You sure are the life of the party huh kid?" A male voice spoke from behind me. I tense up and fight the urge to scream. The urge completely going away when I look behind me to see the old man from ten years ago, the same soft gentle smile on his face.
"You could say that." I answer him with a smile of my own.
"Well let's cut the chit chat and get to the point, I know you have been waiting so I won't make you wait anymore." The man says before taking a breath. "You will find what you need in LA."
"Okay...but once I get there, what do I do next?" I ask.
"You will figure it out." The man said with a wink before he was gone in a burst of bright light.
"Hmm LA." I say to myself. Yeah Mom and Dad were not going to be happy about this at all, but I had to follow my destiny, so LA here I come.
I walk out of the bathroom and everyone was having too much fun to notice me leaving my own party. I drive back home and walk into the house.
"Mom! Dad! Am home."
"Well jeez, you're half an hour earlier than we expected, did everything go alright?" My dad asked.
"The police weren't called?" Mom asked with a stern glare.
I sigh and roll my eyes. "That happened one time! And everything is fine. It's just the old man from ten years ago showed up and said my destiny is in LA...so I just wanted to say goodbye."
My parent seem to freeze and were silence for a while, making my nerves go up.
"Where in LA?"
"Where are you going to stay?"
"How are you going to get there?"
"What about school?" My parents rapidly fired off questions.
"I don't know, No idea, My car and with the money I have saved from working the summers, and well if it makes you feel better I can enroll in a school out there if I am there long enough and my destiny doesn't seem to be anywhere else." I answer all my parents questions.
They both sigh and seem to see the look in my eyes and know there was no talking me out of it.
"You really have to go?" My mom asked.
I give a firm nod. "I need to." I tell them.
"Well in that case come here." My dad says, spreading his arms wide for a hug. I gladly give him one and then my mom soon after.
"I will call everyday." I promise.
"You better or I will come kick your ass." My mom says with a chuckle, making all of us laugh.
It didn't take long for me to get going after that. I had already packed a few suitcases and all my money. LA here I come!
