Eben's POV:-
Ah. Last day of school. To be honest I was kind of sad but happy as well. My sixteenth birthday had been yesterday and I was excited to see the old man again. He said he would see me when I was sixteen and I was officially sixteen now. It was my last day of the 2nd year of high school. I'll be upgrading from sophomore to a junior but to be honest I wasn't really happy about that. I wanted to major in arts which was my passion but my parents weren't too keen on the idea so I had to what they wanted. Engineering. Gross.

One of the main reasons I was excited about the arrival of the old man was because of this since I was hoping he would point me to my destiny where I would be able to pursue my dream. So far though there had been no sign of him all day but I didn't give up hope. I was sure he was going to come sooner or later.

Class ended, which was basically my final exam and now I was on my way to the art gallery. Yes, I would go there somedays to look at my paintings and even draw sometimes. The gallery owner was kind enough to give me a space of my own for my art supplies and paintings. I hadn't had them displayed properly in the gallery from fear of my parents finding out. They were kept in a room at the back of the gallery.

Today I was going there to release my stress of the week which had developed because of the wretched exams. Basically I was going to be painting today.

I arrived at the gallery, greeted the owner and headed to the backroom to get started on my painting for the day. I got out my supplies and began working on the painting I had in mind.

In between making the painting as I turned to dip my brush into some yellow paint I was startled by a figure standing by the window, leaning against it. I almost dropped my brush in shock. As I fully turned around, a smile made it's way to my lips as I saw the old man standing there.

"Finally", I spoke grinning."I thought you'd never come".

"Not a chance, child. I promised you I'd be back and here I am", he said smiling at me.

I smiled back as my thoughts began to wander back to ten years ago when I was at the beach, playing, minding my own business....

~Flaahback~

A flash of light suddenly appeared in front of little Eben as he sat there in the sand. The waves on the beach rose a lot higher than anyone had ever seen them. Eben stared in awe as an old man approached him from in between the waves and spoke to him softly, greeting him.

He fully averted his attention from the sand castle he was making and smiled back at the old man.

"I have come to tell you something Eben", the old man said.

"Wait. How do you know my name?", the little boy asked."I never told you".

"Well you see, my dear child. I am actually a wizard", the old man said smiling."And I have come to tell you about your destiny".

"My- My. What?", little Eben asked startled.

"Your destiny, child", the old man repeated himself smiling.

"What's that?", Eben asked curiosity getting the better of him.
"I cannot tell you what it is, my dear child. But I can tell you this. You will find your destiny when you reach the age of sixteen", the old man said smiling at the young blonde.

"Okay", Eben said."But how will I know?".

"Your questions will be answered when I come back to you later young Eben", the old man replied."For now you should know that you must be prepared for your destiny when j return later".

"Alright", Eben said nodding his head.

"Good", the old man said."Now if you'll excuse me I have somewhere to be".

"Okay. Bye mister", young Eben said waving.

"Bye", the old man said smiling one last time before he disappeared into the light and everything was back to normal.

Eben got up and immediately ran to his parents who were getting ice cream. He told them everything the old man said but his parents ignored him thinking it was just a prank and forbid him to talk to strangers or go near the beach alone again. Young Eben was dejected but followed his parents home.

~End of Flashback~

"So. What news do you bring about my destiny?", I asked the old man.

"All I can say is that you'll find your destiny in LA", the old man replied smiling.

Hmm, LA? Sounded like a nice place to make my dream come true. I could open my own art gallery there and start a business. But I'd have to continue my studies. How will I do that together? Oh well, only time would tell what the universe had in store for me.

The old man explained a few more things to me before he disappeared just like he had ten years ago leaving me alone in the room to ponder over my thoughts.
