Jack's POV:-
I sat looking out of the window as the plane landed in LA. Finally, after five long hours I was here. In LA.

I quickly got up from my seat as the pilot announced that it was safe to leave the plane and exited it.

I took out my phone after I had gotten my luggage and send a text to both my parents letting them know that I had arrived in LA.

After that I called the person who had given me space in his house until I could find another place to stay at. He had told me that there would be a couple more people living in the house since it was a large one and had seven to eight rooms in it. After I had hung up with him after making a few arrangements and confirming the directions, I called an Uber and sat down on one of the benches making myself comfortable. The Uber arrived twenty minutes later and I got in giving it directions towards the house.

When I arrived at the house, I paid the driver, got out of the Uber taking my luggage with me and headed towards the front door, dragging my luggage behind me.

I knocked on the door loudly but no one answered. I looked for a doorbell and found one on the top of the door in the very middle. I stood on my tippy toes to reach it but I was too small to fully reach it and couldn't quite press the bell. I heard footsteps behind me and turned around to look at a brunette about my age standing there. For some reason he looked really familiar.

"Need some help?", he asked smirking. Even his voice sounded familiar but I couldn't put my finger on what made him so familiar. He was a little taller than me and could easily reach the doorbell.

I narrowed my eyes at him and crossed my arms.

"No. I think I can handle it", I said before turning around and trying once again to reach the doorbell but to no avail. I could barely reach it. Behind me, I heard a chuckle and turned around to glare at the boy.

"Are you making fun of me?", I said crossing my arms again. I was very sensitive about my height.

"No no", the brunette said immediately holding up both hands."I'm just really intrigued by your determination".

"Whatever", I said rolling my eyes.

"So. Would you like me to help you or not?", he asked smiling.

I wanted to say no but my stubbornness wasn't going to get me anywhere. He looked at me smiling, waiting for an answer. I tried not to let a smile take over my features but it was hard with the contagious smile he was sending my way and before I knew it, a small smile had made it's way to my lips.

"Fine", I said after a few seconds letting out a sigh."Do what you must".

He let out a chuckle before reaching over me and pressing the bell. It rang loudly and a few seconds later, the door was opened by someone. He didn't quite look like an owner of a big house to me by his looks but I was never one to judge. He smiled at me.

"Hi. Come on in. Mr.Ferguson will be with you in a few", he said. Okay. So he was not the owner.

I smiled at him and thanked him entering the house and looking around. It was quite spacious from the inside and was well kept.

The boy who had helped me earlier followed silently as we both sat on a couch in the living room.

"So. What brings you to LA...?".

"Jack. My name's Jack", I answered letting out a laugh."And I've always wanted to visit LA since I was a kid so I decided why not take the chance and finally make my dream come true".

"Nice name", he said smiling."I'm Corbyn".

Okay. Even his name sounded familiar. Where had I met this guy? I couldn't figure it out no matter how hard I racked my brain.

"Well, nice to meet you Corbyn", I said smiling back."What brings you to LA?".

"Eh. You know. I wanted to go to a good college and there's this college here that really caught my attention", he said grinning.

"So you're going to college?", I asked. He's older than me. Guess I wrongly predicted his age. Oh well, I guess that happens sometimes.

"Yeah. Going to start my first year soon", he said smiling at me.

"Cool", I said."So how old are you?".

"16", he spoke. Okay. That shocked me.

"What?", I asked sitting up."You're sixteen?".

"Yeah" he answered chuckling."Why?".

"Uh. It's just- you're going to college and- you're sixteen-It makes no sense. You're the same age as me yet somehow two years ahead of me. How?".

"Oh yeah. About that", he said chuckling."I graduated earlier from highschool".

"Oh. Am I in the presence of a genius?", I asked teasingly.

"I guess so", he answered shrugging as he laughed.

"Right", I said laughing as well.

Just then the owner arrived and I stood up greeting him, Corbyn following my lead.

"Hi. Welcome to Ferguson Manors. I'm Mr.Ferguson. I hope you will enjoy your stay here. If you have any problems in the future please contact my assistant Mr.Robert as I might not be available most of the time".

We nodded in agreement and began discussing other things with him before finally going to our rooms and settling in. It seemed that Corbyn and I were the first of the people, who had rented the house, to arrive. The others will be coming soon, the owner had told us.

I unpacked my things and got into bed. It was time to rest now because starting tomorrow I needed to begin looking for my destiny.
