Jonah's POV

"ANNNNND TOUCH DOWN!!!!! BY JONAH MARAIS!!!!!" The sport announcer at our high school yells out.

I break into a big grin, throwing the football onto the ground and doing my infamous touchdown dance, the Jonah Shimmy.

This day just keeps getting better and better! I woke up to breakfast in bed from my family due to it being my sixteenth birthday. School was great, a nice easy day since most people were super excited about tonight's big game against our rivals the Knights. And well, the game obviously went well. I scored the winning touchdown and now the team and I could go out for pizza and celebrate both my birthday and the win!

"You were unstoppable today!" Jayden called out, bring me into a hug. The rest of the team joining.

"No! We are unstoppable!" I call out, always the team player.

"Go get changed so we can go out for pizza!" Coach yelled at us, bright grin on his face. He was happy for yet another win.

"You actually going to eat the pizza or get a boring salad?" Ken asks. The team knowing that I liked to eat healthy.

"I think I can afford a cheat day." I say with a wink of my eye.

"Yes!" The whole team cheered, fists pumped in the air.

We run to the locker room and hop in the showers to quickly rinse off the sweat and odor before getting dressed.

"You riding with me?" Jayden asked me, when people started leaving the locker room and heading to their cars.

"Yeah, thanks."

"Anything for the star player." Jayden said with a wink.

"Shut up." I tell him with a playful shove.

Both of us leaving the locker room and getting into his Jeep. Jayden driving to Moxie's Pizza Palace, I am quickly remind why I should of went to anyone but Jayden to drive me there.

"Slow down! I want to live longer than sixteen and I would prefer not to die on my birthday!" I yell out to him.

Jayden rolling his eyes while he shoved me. Soon we make it to the pizza place and I jump out of the car, catching sight of Sean walking into the building.

"Your driving me home!" I yell out as I jog over to him.

"Am not that bad of a driver!" Jayden says while walking into Moxie's.

"Yes you are!" The team that was already inside, called out, making everyone laugh.

"What would you guys like?" A waiter asked.

"We are probably better off ordering one of everything." Coach explains.

"On it." The waiter, Jo, said before walking into the kitchen to tell the cooks.

The rest of the night being just as good as the day. We eat until we were more than stuffed and celebrated, the guys even surprised me with a cake. Students and adults alike coming to celebrate with us, having watched the big game and were proud.

"Thanks Sean." I say while opening the car door and getting out.

"No problem, see you Monday!" Sean says before I close the door and he drives off.

"Nice game." A male voice speaks out behind me.

I jump and turn around slightly frightened. "Hmm thanks." I tell the old man. He looked so familiar, but where did I see him before?

Flashback

"Ready?" The T-ball instructor asked, causing me to nod my head.

I position my bat just right and swing it, having a direct hit with the ball and watching it fly. I run the bases and manage to get a homerun.

"Your son is going to be an amazing player." The instructor told my parents.

"I want to go swing." I tell my parents before running of to the playground that was not even twenty feet away. I get on the swing and begin to pump my legs.

"Hi, Jonah." A old man said, appearing on the swing by me.

I freeze and look at him, eyes wide. "How do you know my name?" I ask.

"Because I know about your destiny, and in ten years, when you turn sixteen years old, I will find you again and lead you towards it." The man spoke, voice kind and trusting.

"Wow." I say stunned. I had a destiny! I couldn't wait to figure out what it was. Before I could ask the man more about it, he was gone.

"Who was that!" My mom asked, running up to me, looking scared.

"He just appeared and then disappeared!" My dad cried out shocked.

"He said I had a destiny and that he would help me find it when I turned sixteen." I explain to them. My parents just turn their heads to look at each other, not knowing what to do.

End of flashback

"You're that man!" I call out, excitement in my voice.

"That I am, you ready for a hint?" The old man said with a sparkly grin.

"Yes." I breath out.

"You need to go to LA." And with a flash of white light he was gone.

Whoa! I walk to my house in a daze and go inside.

"There he is!" My mom cried out, giving me a bear hug, even through she saw me at Moxie's.

"I...I need to go to LA." I tell my parents, my dad being right behind my mom.

"What?" My dad asked, confused.

"The man...he came back. My destiny is in LA." I tell them. I could tell they wanted to say I was crazy and that they didn't believe me but they saw him appear and disappear in front of them ten years ago, they had no chose but to believe it was true.

"What about school?" My mom asked.

I chuckle. "They have schools in LA." I tell her.

"You will call and visit any chance you get?" My dad asked, knowing they weren't talking me out of it.

"Of course!" I agree, I wouldn't just leave them high and dry.

They both sighed and brought me into a big family hug.

"You flying or driving?" My mom asked.

"Flying would be faster." I admit.

My dad smiled sadly but his eyes were bright and proud. "Let's look for some flights then."
