Daniel's POV:-
I was woken up by the sun shining across my face. I sat up with a smile, remembering what day today was. Yes, my sixteenth birthday. I was finally old enough to leave my parent's house and become independent.

I got up and headed to the bathroom, doing my thing in there then got dressed. I headed downstairs and ate the breakfast that had been set down for me by my mother. Once done, I cleared away the dishes and grabbed my backpack, calling a goodbye to my mother and headed out of the house.

I walked a little until I reached the bus stop and waited for the bus. I usually walked on foot to school even though it was 5 miles away but today I wasn't in the mood to walk all that way. The bus arrived and it was mostly empty so I climbed in and headed to the very back of the bus so that I didn't have to interact with anyone. If you haven't guessed by now, I'm a complete introvert and do not like talking to people. I barely have any friends. Just one close friend since childhood. He's the only one who I actually talk to.

The bus arrived at the school and I immediately got out, heading straight to my locker. I was taking out my books when I heard my best friend, Crawford call out me.

"Daniel!", I heard his loud voice call out. I turned a little to see everyone looking at me and immediately felt nervous under everyone's gaze.

"Hey", I said to him sheepishly.

"Seriously?", he said shaking his head."You've got to stop being nervous, dude".

I shrugged my shoulders and sighed.

"I can't help it", I said softly.

"Fine", he said letting out a short laugh as he wrapped an arm around my shoulders."Let's get to class. On, and we need to decided where we're going to celebrate your birthday. You know, officially sixteen man. It's crazy".

I let out a short laugh shaking my head. He punched my arm lightly and grinned. He looked more happy them I was for my birthday. I shook my head slightly and smiled as we made our way towards our classroom.

It was the final day of 10th grade for me and then I'd be going into 11th grade and instead of a sophomore, I'll be a junior. But I had no idea if I would stay at the same highschool or not since I had no idea where my destiny would be...

I shook my thoughts. I needed to focus on my last exam. We arrived at the classroom and sat on one of the chairs. I took out my pen as the teacher handed out the papers.

Once I had finished, I got up, handed my paper to the teacher and exited the room silently as not to attract too much although felt like I was pretty much the center of attention since I was the first one to finish my exam.

I waited for Crawford outside since we were going for lunch after school to celebrate our freedom from these stressing exams and also to give Crawford a mini birthday treat from me. Once Crawford came out of the room, we headed straight to his car and drove to our favorite cafe to celebrate.

Arriving there, I got out and headed inside taking a seat at our usual spot which was surprisingly empty. I mean it wasn't reserved for us so it was surprising to see it empty.

We ate in mostly silence just talking about random stiff. Crawf obviously knew about the whole destiny thing so he kept asking me about it. He stirred the conversation back to it as we sat there drinking our coffees.

"I have no idea", I said shrugging."He's supposed to come today and reveal everything about it to me".

My thoughts immediately wandered to the first time the old man had appeared in front of me. At the time, I was sitting in front of the TV watching my favorite cartoons. I remembered the time. It was around 8O'Clock in the night. He had suddenly appeared in my television when a flash of light had burst out of it. I sat there shocked as he spoke to me about my destiny. At that time, I was too young to understand most of the stuff he was saying but some of it made sense. He had said he'd be back on my sixteenth birthday but so far there had been no sign of him and it was currently 5 in the afternoon, so basically most of the day was gone now.

"Are you positive he's going to come today?", Crawford asked me.

"I really have no clue", I said shaking my head but I suddenly had this gut feeling that it was all true and that the old man would come to me soon.

Once we were done, Crawford dropped me off at my house then went back to his own to get changed. I headed upstairs to my room and started to change myself when I saw another flash of light. Just like ten years except this time it was in my room. I smiled to myself. He was here. The old man was here. I suddenly felt a wave if excitement coarse through my body.

"Hello Daniel. We meet again", he spoke softly.

"Hi", I said grinning.

"Ready to hear about your destiny?", he asked.

"Absolutely", I said.

"Well, all I can say is that you will find it in LA", he said."And you must pack your belongings immediately and get ready for your journey".

"Okay. But how will I know what it is?", I asked.

"You'll figure that out. Trust me", he said smiling."Now I must leave since I have other duties to perform".

"Wait....", I said but by the time I did I was only talking to thin air. I sighed. I wanted to ask him a few questions but I barely had the chance to. Although I had a feeling this was not the last time I was going to see him.

I quickly packed my bags remembering the old man's words then headed downstairs for the party. Once the party was over, I went upstairs to my room and collapsed on the bed, falling asleep immediately.

In the morning, I got ready for my flight, had breakfast and drove to the airport. I had already said goodbye to my parents since I was going to the airport with Crawford and my parents weren't coming.

Half an hour later, I waved goodbye to Crawford then boarded the plane. I took a deep breath as I sat down on my seat. Time for LA.
