Mando's POV:
Laying at the bottom of the sand hill Mando lifts his spinning head turning his attention up at you and Kizen throwing punches viciously and you trying to take a few close range shots when possible. He had to admit that as unorthodox as you are as a Mandalorian he did have to admire how you go about things. How you handled respecting his want to to keep with weapon safe from even yourself. It was a refreshing change for once. Even how you followed the faintest tracks in the sand was impressive. Not to mention as well, the softness in you voice when on the Glider was as if you'd known him for years.
Focusing back on the battle before him Mando watches as you skilfully catch Kizen's flying arm and with an effortless spin elbow him in the face, leaving him momentarily dazed. Kicking the back of his knee you let Kizen buckle under your grip before he grips onto your armour. Slowly he beings to tip back towards the same hill Mando had fallen sending both himself and you over the edge.
Holding his breath Mando watches as the two of you roll down like a log, your vice grip on Kizen not faltering. Small yelps escape Kizen's mouth each time you roll over him, your armour bruising him. Watching the two of you landing a small way away from him Mando smirks and you land perfectly on top of Kizen and land a near jaw breaking punch on him knocking him out instantly.
Pushing himself up Mando brushes the sand off of himself and walks over to you who's now resting their back against the steep sand hill.
"Ahhh the back up has arrived. Nice of you to join us" You joke making the Mando actually chuckle.
'This girl is unbelievable' He laughs in his head starting to warm to you before watching you hold out your blaster to him.
"Job description says wanted dead. Want to do the honours?" She nods.
Taking the blaster from her Mando nods back.
"Well I can't let you have all the fun".
_Time skip_
Your first hunt with the Mando was near a year ago now and the two of you have grown to be friends. Or at least that's what you call it. It took a few months for the two of you to share your names with each other but everything seemed a little less tense once you knew. You felt that Din fitted him and his voice. You've also become a surrogate mother to the Kid, he often sits with you while you work on this ship or are flying. Occasionally you sing to him as he drifts off to sleep. Old songs that you vaguely remember from your childhood and Mandalorian songs, the softer ones that is. Din would often hum along to them his shoulders relaxing and his guard dropping a little like he felt safe.
Sitting in co pilot seat of the cockpit of the Razor Crest you lean back staring up at the stars as they fly past. On the visor of your helmet you can see the stars reflecting off of it, the child sleeping soundly in your arms without a care in the universe. Much like Mando's helmet your helmet has a T shape visor, yours however is a little shorter in length as it reaches across. The three of you are on your way back to Nevarro a bounty sits in carbonite down in the hull of the ship bellow. Din wasn't in the cockpit, he hasn't been for a while but occasionally you head light clashing from bellow, guessing he must be working on the ship you let yourself drift off the sleep with the soft glow of the stars making your you have a good grip on the little bean. A peaceful smile on your lips. It had been a long day, this time surprisingly not in the sand so you couldn't complain too much.
When you wake up you find yourself still surrounded by darkness, shifting in the chair softly a cloth falls from you helmet and you're momentarily blinded by the red glow of the world. You were on Nevarro but still in the cockpit of the Crest. Mando must have put the cloth over your helmet to let you sleep a bit longer, he'd also taken the kid back to his crib. This sent a harsh blush to your face, he has been doing little things like this recently and it makes your heart flutter. As if summoned by your throughs the familiar sound of the Mandalorian's foot steps clank up the ladder but a little quieter than usual. As his helmet appears at the top of the ladder you lean around to look at him.
"You're awake." He states making you chuckle.
"Uh yeah. Thanks by the way." You hold up the cloth.
"No worries. Here's you share"
Quickly catching the small flying pouch you let out a groggy yawn and stand allowing yourself a good stretch a cute little involuntary noise escaping your lips. From behind Din the kid waddles towards you his arms stretching up wanting you to lift him up.
"Good morning little guy. I hope you didn't wake Mando up this morning." You jest.
With a soft chuckle you scoop up the little guy and let him run his hands over your fiery arm guard, seeming that it was one of his favourite activities other than eating frogs and making tools float around.
"So any new bounties?" You ask ready for another job, smiling as the kid coos.
Shuffling a little uncomfortably Din doesn't answer. His shoulders drop as is guilt was resting upon them.
"I have a new one yes. But you can't come with me. It's just me and the kid." He says quietly making you tilt your head a little. You feel your heart stop for a moment before a concerned gurgle from the kid rips you back to reality.
"Din what do you mean I can't go with you? We're a team, the three of us remember-"
"I'm sorry Y/N but you just can't go with us on this one. No arguing." He near shouts.
At his tone you take a step back, your eye welling up a little. Feeling a sense of anger flow through you, you walk towards the ladder sliding past him. Before you can reach the ladder a strong hand catches your upper arm.
"Y/n please know, if I could take you with me I would."
Din pleads, his modulated voice soft and sad. He really didn't want to leave you alone. Letting out a soft sigh yourself you turn back to the Mandalorian stood before you.
"Just don't get killed ok. I'm not going to find a better hunting partner than you again and I'm not going through all that hassle of letting anyone else fly the Glider." You jest making light of the fact you felt slightly discarded by your one friend after everything you'd both been through. Handing the kid over to Din you try to mask a shaky breath, hopping that no tears slip down from under your mask.
"Good luck Din. Keep him safe for me green bean."
Letting go of your arm Din nods and you slide down the ladder quickly going to grab your things from the room you were bunking in. It didn't take long as you stuff your belongings into a bag and make your way off of the Crest. It takes off as soon as you get clear, leaving you alone. It had been quite a while since you had actually been alone like this, you'd gotten used to having Din's company.
Allowing a disgruntled huff out you make your way to the cantina to find yourself a solo job. Surely Greef had to have something for you, especially seeming as he was the one to give Din his solo mission. Your quarrel was with him more than it was with Mando.
Sipping something strong through a straw you finish your fourth drink in the last ten minutes. 'Where in the name of the maker is Greef?' You think to yourself knowing he was probably hiding from you for a while. Around your fifth drink of some strong blue liquor Greef finally appears clocking you at the bar almost instantly. Moseying over to you he offers a slightly apologetic look which you snuff with a huff.
"I know why you're here. It was a solo job, he was the one that got here first." Greef says nervously and you wave your hand at him.
"Yeah Yeah just give me someone to kill or hurt." You drone, the alcohol starting to get to you.
With a hesitant breath Greef pulls out a bounty chip.
"The only killing job left is this one. It's a three person job. You can't do it on your own."
Snatching the chip from his hand you slide off of the stool and make your way out of the Cantina ignoring the protesting shouts of Greef behind you. You really didn't care about what he had to say anymore, or maybe you would have if you were still sober. Stumbling your way into the Glider you climb up into the cockpit you slump drunkenly down in your seat and take off. The ship sways as you do for a moment before you catch your balance and head off of the planet.
