They didn't speak of it. It was as if they had all collectively agreed to act as if it had never happened. To move on with their lives as thought they were the same as before.

But they weren't.

Nothing was the same. And all of them knew it.

...

It was their fans who noticed it first. The steep disconnect that seemed to be taking place between them.

Sure, there were still moments where it seemed like nothing was wrong. When things seemed to have turned a corner and maybe they were actually going to make it through this.

But they weren't.

And they all knew that too.

...

"So tell us what keeps this working. What keeps BTS going?" They were being interviewed by someone who's name he had already forgotten, asking a typical question that they had been asked a thousand times before. Their answer was generic. That they respected each other, of course. That they all wanted the same things so it was easy.

But Jungkook and Taehyung were sharing a look, and he caught it out of the corner of his eye. Knew it because it was the same one he so often gave Yoongi.

"There's a mutual love and respect that everyone has for one another." Namjoon spoke, as he almost did. Because apparently he had taken it upon himself to just not let them all speak most of the time. It was easier of only one of them had to remember what they were supposed to say.

"How has the dynamic changed over time?" It was boring and ridiculous and sometimes he wondered why all of them even needed to be there at all.

"Well we've -"

"Do we seriously have to sit here and answer this shit?" Yoongi didn't even have the patience to wait for Namjoon to get half way through his sentence before speaking up, looking directly at one of the near by staff members.

"It's been three hours." Taehyung's voice rose next, and he could clearly see where the divide was forming. "Literally how many ways can we answer that?"

"This is the last one." Once, they had been fun. Interesting. A pleasure to work with and interview. And now they all just sat there silently, praying that the day would hurry up and be over with.

"Then they already have their answers." It was clear that Yoongi was entirely done with it. Pushing himself up to stand, he didn't even bother to stretch before heading off behind the cameras.

"Sorry for them. They're just -" Namjoon was speaking again, trying to smooth things over.

"Right." As oldest, it was his place to always back of their leader. To sit there and nod and speak only when Namjoon couldn't come up with the answer fast enough.

But he was tired of it.

"We've already answered this question. Five times. It's getting old." And they were all tired. Four years into their career and all of them were feeling the intense kind of burn out that usually came much later.

"Not you too." He had always wondered if he had some kind of breaking point. Some moment where he would finally reach the end of his calmness.

And as it turned out, he did.

He didn't say anything. Because nothing else actually needed to be said. He just pushed himself up and followed the path that had been forged by Yoongi, sighing as a member of the staff instantly turned to tag along behind him.

...

It was Jimin they all started talking about first.

There was an off moment on stage in London. Where he hadn't seemed like he was himself. Probably because he and Jungkook had gotten into the most vicious fight any of them had seen yet literally seconds before they had all gone on.
