Chapter Twenty-Five- Time heals

~Four months later~

~Axel's point of view~

Four fucking months. Four months to wrap it all up. It's done. Over. I'm a free man. I'll never do anything like that again. I made it clear that I wouldn't. This issue was personal. I am the son of what was the Mafia King. I am the oldest male child. I didn't have a choice. I have a choice now.

I choose Cherish.

I know she saw me at the park that day. I know she thinks I lied to her. What she saw was my sister Amber. She's the oldest of the four of us. Yes, we are full brothers and sisters. We tested after Rip told us. They had us all in holding after the warehouse. We couldn't leave the safehouse until AFTER all seventy-two of them were convicted. That day at the park was the first day I had seen my kids or Amber since our dad died.

As of this moment, right now, I haven't seen them in six months. Except for the ten minutes at the park. We still haven't officially been released. Three more hours. Three.

Victoria: "What are you doing first, Axel?"

Axel: "I need to go see the girls."

Adrian: "You know they're safe."

Victoria: "You need to go see Cherish first."

Axel: "Victoria, she isn't going to want me. She probably thinks I lied to her."

Victoria: "You'll have to explain that she's your sister."

Axel: "She doesn't even know you're married to my brother."

Victoria: "She knows you and I are family; she doesn't know how."

Brian: "It never came up about me."

Brian has been ok with this. He is single and uninvolved.

Preston: "Or me. She doesn't know we're family either."

Preston and Brian are our cousins; we all did this together; they were there for me.

Axel: "The only thing she knows for sure is that Adrian and Victoria are married."

Adrian: "How did she figure that out?"

Axel: "I told her."

Adrian: "Why?"

Axel: "I thought she was checking you out."

Victoria: "You had that girl so fucked up that night."

Axel: "I made up for it the next day for your information Victoria."

Victoria: "Did you tell her that you love her?"

Axel: "I made sure she knew."

Preston: "Did she feel the same?"

Axel: "Yeah."

Brian: "You weren't this crazy about the girl's mom."

Axel: "She wasn't Cherish."

The door opens.

Dante: "Y'all can go."

Axel: "Thank God."
