Chapter Thirty- Be part of us

~~Reeva's point of view~~

Brian was gone when I got up for work. From what I understand, today is his first day back. It's Axel's first day back too. They were working some special project. Cherish told me that Brian, Axel, and Preston work from Five am to two pm. I have to admit, once I got to sleep, I slept really good in his arms. I get ready for the day and head to the kitchen.

Luna: "Morning."

Reeva: "Morning."

We all work at the bank. We all ride together.

River: "Hey."

Reeva: "Morning River."

River: "Come with me for a minute."

Reeva: "Ok."

We go to the pantry.

Reeva: "What's up?"

River: "Take your car today. Tell them you have a doctor's appointment. You get lunch at three, right?"

Reeva: "Yes."

River: "Take your car. If they ask, it's just a checkup."

Reeva: "Ok. Thank you, River."

River: "You're welcome."

Reeva: "May I ask a question?"

River: "Of course."

Reeva: "How often does Brian stay?"

River: "Frequently. He's got some stuff going on. Is it a problem?"

Reeva: "No. We had a good talk last night."

River: "Oh."

Reeva: "Why don't you bring it to the group about just letting him move in? We have the room. He's always here anyway."

River: "That might be a good idea."

We have eighteen bedrooms. We aren't using them all. Even with the new babies coming, we're only using fourteen.

We leave the pantry and make our way back to the kitchen. I grab a bagel for breakfast. I hear Adley cry, so I go get her and bring her out.

River: "Eat. I got her."

River takes her from me. As soon as he does, the depression comes seeping back. Sometimes I wonder if having a child would help. When I'm with any of the kids, I'm at my happiest. I'm twenty-six years old; I'm still a virgin; I don't even finish my food. I discreetly toss it.

Natalie: "Are you ready?"

Reeva: "Yeah. I'm going to take my car today. I have an appointment at lunch."

Natalie: "Oh. Well, just come home after. I'll have Lydia stay."

Reeva: "Are you sure?"

Natalie: "Yes. You've never asked for any time off."

Reeva: "Thank you."

Halfway through the morning, River calls me.

~Phone conversation~

River: "Hey."
