As promised, Seyi accompanied me to the hospital for my prenatal care with Dr. Feyi. We explained to her that I was single and that Seyi was just a friend.
"Okay, that's fine." Dr. Feyi smiled. "Thank you for coming with her."
"Why are you thanking me?" Seyi asked.
"Most single women feel uncomfortable and emotional when they see other women with their partners, that which they don't have."
"I see." Seyi said. "Thank you for your concern but Adeola is just fine."
Dr. Feyi looked as though something occurred to her. "You seem familiar."
"Well, I am..." Seyi was about to introduce himself when I poked him.
"Let her guess herself. What if she doesn't actually know you?" I whispered.
"I do!" She exclaimed.
"Okay?" Seyi and I stared at her.
"Femi Lawal!"
We both hissed and Seyi sprang to his feet. "Do I look like a Femi to you?"
"S-Sorry sir."
I pulled him back down so he could sit. "Can we proceed?"
"Y-Yes. Of course." Dr. Feyi was definitely startled by the way Seyi spoke to her.
"I-I'm sorry. Just that I don't like the man you just mentioned." Seyi apologized.
"It's okay." Dr. Feyi handed me a form. "Please fill this."
"Thank you."
I filled the form while Seyi stared at me and Dr. Feyi was busy looking through files which were on her table.
After a while, I asked. "Can I leave this place blank?"
Dr. Feyi looked up. "Which place?"
"It's asking about my husband."
"Oh. You can put the details of the man who is here with you."
"Why?" Seyi and I asked.
"Since you are friends I'm sure you're willing to provide support for her and the child even if you're not becoming the Father." She smiled.
"Why are you smiling? Do you think...?" Seyi was feigning anger.
"I'll put it."
"What?" Seyi stared at me. "Are you sure?"
"Yes." I nodded.
I filled out the remaining spaces in the form, added my signature and got Seyi's signature on it before handing it over to Dr. Feyi.
"We're going to carry out some tests on you." Dr. Feyi got up. "Come with me."
"Careful." Seyi helped me to my feet. "After you."
"No, no, no." Dr. Feyi sighed. "I'm sorry sir. You can't come with."
"Why?"
"You're not her husband and there are tests we're going to carry out which..." Dr. Feyi explained.
"I totally get it." Seyi sat back down. "I'll wait here."
I smiled at him before Dr. Feyi led me out of the office.

Dr. Feyi took me to the laboratory and carried out some tests. First, I had to use the toilet and give them a sample of my urine and then did a blood test. She placed a cuff on my arm to check my blood pressure.
