Bimbo and I were watching movies on her laptop in my room. Her mother had gone to see a friend while her Dad was busy at work.

"Ha-ha-ha." Bimbo laughed. "That girl is stupid. Can't she see that he is playing her?"

"It's just too obvious. The boy is not even a good player because it seems too easy." I laughed.

"The more reason the girl is stupid for not detecting something as easy."

"Maybe she's blinded by love." I sighed.

"Which kind love?" Bimbo shrugged. "Love is blind sha."

I tapped my temple. "What if she ignored the fact that she was being played just to get close to him?"

"Ehn?" Bimbo was obviously confused.

I sat up. "She wants to enjoy the love she got from the guy even if it is fake, at least they'd be together."

Bimbo stared at the paused movie and back at me. "I get now. If the boy knows that she knows the truth, he'd find their relationship useless and won't talk to her again."

"Exactly. So she wants to be close to her Love for the mean time."

"That's their business. Let's continue." Bimbo resumed the movie.

We watched the movie for a little while, laughing at the stupid couple. At the end of the movie, we both cried because it later got us emotional.

"I love the way it ended. We were still saying she was stupid but she turned out to be wise." Bimbo grinned.

"Yes. It moved us to tears. Lover boys can be a romantic at times." I smiled.

"I think I'll use her tactics. I'll stay with the guy I love whether he likes me or not and get him to fall in love with me." Bimbo stared up at the ceiling drowning in her imagination.

"Not everything is like that." I tried to snap her out of it. "It's just a movie. It doesn't happen in real life."

"Who told you? Most of these things are true life stories." Bimbo said.

"And most true life stories that happen to someone isn't bound to happen to you."

"What do you mean?"

"Look at me, for example. You know Damba is a lover boy that everyone loves to hang around with. I fell for him even when I was unsure of his love for me and this happened." I gestured to my belly.

"Your life hasn't ended. Something is still bound to happen. What if he finds you at the end and you live happily ever after?" Bimbo asked.

"I'd love to join you in fantasizing about it but I don't want to give myself false hope. Thank you." I shut the laptop.

"It's not a fantasy. I'm being optimistic here."

"I don't care. Everything is clear to me and that there won't be any Damba for me nor a Father for these children." I opened up the laptop again and started surfing the internet.

"What if he doesn't know that...?"

I happened to see an advert online so I used it to change the topic. "Bimbo, see this."

"You're trying to change the..." She peered at the screen. "You want to do it?"

It was an application for an internship training program in Lagos. I hadn't really thought of doing the internship and where I'd do it but this was a golden opportunity I didn't want to miss.

"Yes." I nodded.

"In your condition?"

"The doctor said my babies are fine so it won't be much of a deal if..."

"Are you sure? You've been stressed in the past months and..."

I tapped her. "That's different. I'm just going to work and looking through files, not doing strenuous jobs."

"Okay." Bimbo sighed. "What are you waiting for? Apply now!"

"Yes!" I rubbed my hands together. "I hope they accept it."

"They will."

Seyi arrived back in Nigeria sooner than planned. He arrived on Thursday instead of Friday so he called to inform me and asked me to give him Bimbo's address so he would come see me.

He came over on Friday and gave me a hug. Usually, I'd have stepped back and stopped him from hugging me but I actually did miss him and his company. He was the one who made my life worth living at the time where things were horrible.

"I've missed you, Adeola!" He tore apart.

"I've missed you too, Seyi." I led him to the living room. "Have a seat."

"Thank you." He took my hands. "You've been through a lot, I'm sorry."

I shook my head. "You had nothing to do with it so why are you sorry?"

"I left you all alone. I prioritized my work over you and just assumed that you were fine." Seyi bowed his head.

I lifted his head with my index finger. "See! I'm doing just fine. Don't worry."

Bimbo came with a tray of juice and water at the time. "Good morning."

"Good morning." Seyi nodded.

"See, that's Bimbo. Everyone here has been good to me." I smiled.

Bimbo took a seat. "She's not been good to herself, though."

"What?" Seyi and I stared at her.

"She applied for an internship program at a company." Bimbo said.

"So?" Seyi asked.

"See her condition now. She'll just stress the babies." Bimbo paused. "You know she is having twins right?"

"Yes." Seyi smiled.

"So you get why- Wait, how did you know?" Bimbo asked.

"I told him. Who else?" I shook my head.

"Wow! So it's now Seyi and not Damba." Bimbo teased.

I hissed. "There's no Damba and Seyi is just a friend."

"Sorry. Sorry." Bimbo apologized and turned to Seyi. "Should she work?"

"If she wants to." Seyi shrugged.

"You see!" I grinned.

"But she'll have to make sure she doesn't skip her check up." Seyi added.
