Immediately I got to the hostel, I had my bath but as soon as I was done, I didn't get dressed. Like I always do, I sat on my bed engrossing myself in my phone. Scrolling through Instagram and then something tinged me.

It was an urge to check out Damba's profile. I resisted at first but I did it. I was scrolling through his page when Remi joined me on my bed.

"What are you doing?"

"I...I..." I tried to hide my phone and was fumbling when it dropped to the floor and Damba's face was visible. Everybody present in the room stared in awe.

"Damba?!"

I quickly picked up my phone and started dressing up like nothing happened.

"Adeola!" Everyone in the room chorused.

"What?" I turned around to look at them.

"Why are you stalking Damba?"

"Me? No oh." I shook my head. "Why will I be stalking him?"

"We saw you." Remi walked forward and sat me down.

"I need to dress up."

"You could have as well done that before you decided to stalk him."

"I..."

"Shh." A roommate- Bimbo dragged a stool beside my bed so she could sit.

"Oya tell us everything."

"I...There's nothing to say." I shook my head.

"If you don't tell us, who will you tell?" Remi asked.

"I..." I was interrupted by a phone call.

"Unknown number?" Bimbo stared at my phone. "Leave it jare. Answer us."

"It could be someone important or something urgent." I picked the call and walked to a corner in the room.

"Angel."

I knew that voice. It belonged to Damba. Why is he calling and who gave him my number?

"Who gave you my number?"

I heard him chuckle. "Did you forget?"

"Forget what?"

"You gave me the number yourself."

"When?"

"That day on the bench."

Then, I remembered. How come I gave it to him? What's worse, I even forgot that I did.

"Adeola?!"

"Yes, yes. Sorry. I remember now."

"You easily forget things oh." Damba laughed.

Remi whispered. "Put it on speaker."

Bimbo hissed. "What's your business? Don't mind her jare."

Another roommate said. "If she wanted you to hear the conversation, why did she go to that corner?"

"Because we were making noise?" Remi asked and I didn't hear what they said after that because Damba said something.

"I wonder how you passed through school."

I wanted to laugh. I'm a docile and astute student, that much I know. Funny enough, I graduated with a first class in Economics. No one in this camp but Remi and Tola knows.

"It's God's grace."

"I know, everyone passes through school with God's grace." He laughed. "I'm just wondering how you forgot..."
